Going to be booking a flight soon for a year-end getaway or in the mood for a new year, new flight? Use these 11 simple Wego filters and sorting moves to shrink the list to flights you’d actually book.
1. Set a departure time window
Do it on Wego:
- Open Flights and search your route.
- Tap Filters and set your Departure time range (e.g., 7am to 1pm).
2. Set an arrival time window
Do it on Wego:
- Similarly, tap Filters and set your Arrival time range.
- Re-check results and remove late-night arrivals.
3. Choose your stops (non-stop or 1 stop max)
Do it on Wego:
- Tap Filters, then Stops to pick Non-stop or Up to 1 stop.
- If you’re comparing, switch between the two and watch the list instantly change.
4. Set a maximum total travel time
Do it on Wego:
- Tap Filters and set the Total duration to your limit.
- Tighten it until only realistic options remain.
5. Pick the airlines you want
Do it on Wego:
- Tap Filters, then scroll down to Airlines and select your preferred airlines.
- Add 1 backup airline if your list gets too small.
6. Choose the airports you actually mean (big-city trap saver)
Do it on Wego:
- Tap Filters, scroll to select the Departure airport and the Arrival airport.
- Double-check airport codes before booking (same city does not always mean the same airport).
7. Avoid painful connections (check connection time before you tap Pay)
Do it on Wego:
- If you see a layover/connection time option in Filters, set a sensible range.
- If you don’t, open the flight details and check the connection time before selecting.
8. Use the Fare Calendar to move off expensive days
Do it on Wego:
- Tap the Fare Calendar to scan for cheaper dates around your plan.
- Pick a cheaper date, then return to the results and reapply your filters.
9. Sort by Cheapest to surface the best prices fast
Do it on Wego:
- On results, tap Sort and choose Cheapest.
- Then use your filters (stops + duration) so “cheapest” doesn’t mean “longest.”
10. Check baggage before you trust a low price
Do it on Wego:
- Tap a flight to open price/fare details.
- Confirm baggage (carry-on vs checked) and what you’re paying for.
11. Choose “Book on Wego” and save your booking for offline access
Do it on Wego:
- When available, pick options labeled “Book on Wego,” Wego’s internal booking system, for a smoother checkout.
- After booking, open your trip in the app and make sure your details are saved so you can access them without internet.
