The restart puts a nonstop flight back between India and Israel for the first time since February. Israel’s Ministry of Tourism announced the schedule, the Times of Israel reports that Air India has started selling tickets, and the 1 December flight already shows in Wego’s flight search. We could not find an Air India press release yet, so check the flight appears on Air India’s own site before you pay.
Why the restart could still change
Air India has stopped and restarted this route several times since October 2023, each time because of the security situation. That history is worth weighing before you book a non-refundable fare.
| When | What happened |
|---|---|
| October 2023 | Flights stopped after the war began |
| August 2024 | A short restart ended with flights suspended until 8 August |
| March 2025 | Flights resumed on 2 March |
| May 2025 | Suspended again after a Houthi missile hit the grounds of Ben Gurion Airport on 4 May |
| January 2026 | Flights resumed on 1 January |
| February 2026 | Flights stopped after 28 February, when the Iran war began |
| April to July 2026 | Suspension extended several times, most recently through 30 September |
| 1 December 2026 | The latest announced restart |
Before you book
- Visa: Indian passport holders need a B2 visitor visa for Israel before they fly. The Israeli Embassy in New Delhi says Indians living in India can apply online for an eVisa-B2, so start before you lock in dates.
- Safety advice: India’s embassy in Tel Aviv most recently urged Indian nationals in Israel to avoid non-essential travel within the country and stay near shelters, in an advisory issued on 8 June 2026. Check the Ministry of External Affairs for anything newer.
- Airport status: Ben Gurion Airport is open but not yet back to normal, with airlines returning unevenly. Our Middle East travel update on flights and airspace tracks the latest.
- Flexible fares: given the route’s history, a fare you can change or refund costs more but protects you if the schedule moves again.
Compare Air India’s nonstop with one-stop options for your dates, and pick a fare you can change if the schedule moves.
