AirAsia X will resume Kuala Lumpur–London flights via Bahrain from 26 June 2026 — its first UK service since 2012.
The low-cost carrier is using Bahrain as its first European hub, with introductory London fares that started from RM199 one-way.
The Route and Launch Date
According to the official AirAsia newsroom, the airline launches a daily Kuala Lumpur (KUL)–Bahrain (BAH)–London Gatwick (LGW) service on 26 June 2026.
Some aviation outlets and schedule trackers have since reported a revised start of 27 August 2026. Until AirAsia confirms otherwise, follow the official launch date above — but confirm your exact dates on AirAsia’s site before booking.
The route is flown on an Airbus A330-300. London Gatwick is the UK gateway — not Heathrow or Stansted.
This marks AirAsia X’s return to London after a 14-year gap, and its first scheduled European destination since pulling out of the market in 2012.
Fares and Booking
AirAsia X opened bookings in February 2026 with promotional launch fares. Those promo prices have closed; standard base fares now apply, confirmed by ch-aviation.

Travellers booking from the Gulf can buy the Bahrain–London leg on its own, priced from around BHD41 one-way to London and BHD39 back to Kuala Lumpur.
