Alhind Sunday Passport Collection in the UAE: Timings, Fees and How to Book

Last updated: Sep 25, 2026

Indian expats in the UAE can collect their passports on Sundays for the first time. Alhind Global Services launched a dedicated Sunday collection counter at all 16 Indian Consular Application Centers (ICACs) on September 20, 2026, Khaleej Times reports.

The service runs from 10am to 12pm and is free of charge. It was introduced under the guidance of the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Indian Consulate in Dubai, in direct response to complaints from working residents who struggled to collect passports during weekday hours, according to Gulf News.

What the Sunday Service Covers and What It Doesn’t

  • Hours: 10am to 12pm, every Sunday
  • Service: passport pickup only, with no new applications, renewals, attestation or other consular services
  • Eligibility: any applicant whose passport is ready for collection
  • Cost: free, with no charge beyond the government fees already paid

The Sunday counter is designed for residents who cannot visit a center during the week because of work or other commitments. It also helps those who find courier delivery unreliable for urgent travel documents such as passports needed for visa processing or Emirates ID renewals.

Where to Collect: All 16 Centers

Sunday collection is available at every ICAC, and the 16 centers are spread across all seven emirates, according to Khaleej Times:

  • Abu Dhabi (6): Al Danah, Al Reem Island, Musaffah, Madinat Zayed, Ghayathi and Al Ain
  • Dubai (2): Bur Dubai (UW Mall, Al Mankhool) and Dubai Investment Park
  • Sharjah (2): Al Majaz and Rolla
  • Other emirates (6): Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, Khorfakkan, Kalba and Ras Al Khaimah

How to Book and Collect Your Passport

Appointments at all 16 ICACs are booked online through the consular services portal consularsevainuae.com. Slots are released daily at 9am and 9pm, and applicants may enter a center only 15 minutes before their appointment, according to the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi.

  • Regular hours: 8am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday
  • Walk-in eligible categories: Tatkal passport applicants, newborns, Emergency Certificate applicants, senior citizens aged 60 and above, and People of Determination
  • Fees: a 36-page passport renewal costs Dh450 (Tatkal: Dh900), plus Alhind’s flat Dh19 service charge. See our guide to India’s passport fee rise for the full list.
  • Avoid fake agents: in August, the Consul General of India in Dubai warned against third-party agents charging exorbitant fees for appointment bookings, so book only through the official portal

Alhind has run the centers since July 22, 2026, as an interim provider while India’s Ministry of External Affairs holds a fresh tender, as directed by the Supreme Court of India. If your passport is ready for a trip home, you can search for flights to India on Wego.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know when my Indian passport is ready to collect in the UAE?

Keep the submission receipt you get when you apply, and use it to track your application on the ICAC website or the Passport Seva portal, according to Gulf News. Once it shows your passport is ready, you can pick it up on a weekday or at the Sunday counter.

Can I get my passport delivered instead of collecting it?

Yes, if you chose courier service when you booked, the passport is delivered to your registered address instead. The Embassy says Alhind’s Dh19 service charge covers ancillary services, including domestic courier.

Can I collect my passport at any center on Sunday?

Passports are collected from the ICAC you selected when you applied. Published guidance does not say whether a different center can hand it over, so check with Alhind before going elsewhere.

Can I still go to the Indian Embassy or Consulate for passport services?

No, passport, visa and attestation services are no longer offered at the Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate in Dubai. All applications and collections go through the 16 ICACs.

How do I contact Alhind about my passport application?

You can call Alhind’s toll-free number, 800248517, or email [email protected], according to Khaleej Times. Book appointments only through consularsevainuae.com.
