Bahrain moves easily between old and new, layering centuries of heritage over a buzzing restaurant and harbour scene, all tied together by a packed events calendar.
Spend the day wandering Manama’s souqs and historic sites, then let the night lead you to a concert, an exhibition or something good to eat.

Bahrain Comic Con 2026

Bahrain Comic Con turns Bahrain International Circuit into a full weekend of comics and cosplay, with gaming zones and guest artists rounding out the programme.
Bahrain Tourism’s current 2026 listing does not yet name the guests. Last year’s edition featured Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito and Game of Thrones’ Isaac Hempstead Wright, alongside voice actors and gaming figures. That gives a taste of the personalities the event has attracted; check this year’s guest announcements before planning around a particular appearance.
Cosplay and gaming are part of the 2026 event listing, along with artists, creators and merchandise exhibitors. Check the programme for any contests or artist-alley details before you go. Costumes are optional, enthusiasm is not.

Saturday’s class awards lead into the Best of Show prize, while the Grand Depart gives visitors a final chance to see the featured cars leave the grounds.
It’s built for motoring enthusiasts, but the setting and sheer variety of cars mean it’s worth a look even if engines aren’t your thing.

Things to do beyond the events
Bahrain’s events work best as part of a wider itinerary. Use the time before or after a ticketed event to explore Manama’s heritage and seaside food scene.
Start at Bab Al Bahrain and Manama Souq

Bab Al Bahrain marks the gateway to the city’s old commercial heart. From here, wander into Manama Souq for spice shops and jewellery counters, pause for a coffee, then follow the streets around Government Avenue for more shops and cafés.
Visit the Bahrain National Museum and Bahrain Fort

The Bahrain National Museum is a good introduction to the country’s archaeology and centuries of history. Pair it with Qal’at al-Bahrain, also known as Bahrain Fort, for a fuller sense of the island’s past and its role in the Gulf.
Spend time in Muharraq

Muharraq offers a different side of Bahrain. Wander the Pearling Path and its restored merchant houses, including Bin Matar House, then pause for coffee or a bite to eat before heading back to Manama.
Plan a waterfront stop

Bahrain Bay and The Avenues Bahrain offer a different mood, pairing relaxed walks by the water with shopping and dining. Both work well for an unstructured afternoon, or a meal before an evening event.
