Stimulating outdoor action at the Bahrain Turf Series 2024-2025
For an electrifying outdoor experience, be sure to catch the 2024-2025 Bahrain Turf Series season at the Bahrain Turf Club, which has expanded its lineup and floodlit night racing, adding to the spectacle.
For this season, the Bahrain Turf Series has been expanded to twelve races, with a total prize fund of USD 1 million and an additional USD 80,000 in bonuses. The series kicked off in November last year with two extra handicaps—each valued at USD 100,000—set for the grand finale weekend, headlined by The King’s Cup.
As part of the Bahrain Turf Series 2024-2025, races will be held until April 2025, with more competitions scheduled throughout each month under different categories. Tickets can be purchased through the Platinum List website, starting at USD 2.74.
Memories Carved in Steel – an artistic showcase
A key highlight of the spring season in Bahrain is the “Memories Carved in Steel” exhibition running until 23 May 2025 at the Bahrain National Museum. From monumental installations by Spanish artist Juan Garaizábal, themes of time and memory are explored. The exhibition contains twelve outdoor sculptures, ten works on paper, and five sculptures installed indoors.
The exhibition will feature twelve large-scale sculptures outdoors, including two pieces exclusively created for Manama, alongside the ten works on paper and five smaller museum sculptures. Garaizábal’s unique blend of architecture, memory, and sculpture leads to monuments that stimulate thought and breathe new life into the past.
The exhibition also integrates ten outdoor sculptures into Bahrain’s landscape, allowing visitors to experience the artworks as they coexist with nature. Inside the museum, a display of drawings and smaller sculptures extends this consideration, guiding a contemplative journey through time and space between past events and modernity.
At the heart of the exhibition is “The Door of Dilmun,” inspired by the ancient city of Dilmun, a place historically linked to purity and eternal life. The standard entry fee to the museum is around 1 BD, which can be purchased at the museum entrance.
