Bahrain on-arrival visit visa

The on-arrival visit visas issued in Bahrain are of two types:

Single entry visit visa

The single entry visit visa is issued on arrival in Bahrain to eligible tourists or visitors provided their entry does not violate the security and national welfare of the Kingdom of Bahrain. However, to get approval for this visa, some other conditions are also required to be met.

The visa can be used only once for a single entry, and the length of stay allowed is 2 weeks (or longer for some nationalities). It is, however, extendable at NPRA (National Passports & Residence Affairs) in Bahrain on payment of a certain fee.

The total fee for the single entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 5,000 (USD 13.261).

Multiple entry visit visa

The on-arrival multiple entry visit visa is issued to eligible visitors or tourists on arrival at any entry point for the Kingdom of Bahrain provided their entry does not violate the security and national welfare of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The visa fee for this type of visit visa is paid to the Passport Officer on arrival in Bahrain, and a receipt is issued.

However, to get approval for this visa, some other conditions are also required to be met.

The length of stay allowed is 1 month, and the visa can be used for multiple entries to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

It is, however, extendable at NPRA (National Passports & Residence Affairs) in Bahrain on payment of a certain fee. The total fee for the multiple entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 12,000 (USD 31.827).

eVisa for visit purposes

Please note that the visit eVisa eligibility has now been extended to 209 nationalities. Please visit Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior website to check your eligibility for different types of visit eVisas.

Single entry eVisa

The visit single-entry visit visa is issued to eligible visitors or tourists online from Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior website, provided they meet some of the conditions. The documents required are as follows:

  • photocopy of the photo page of the applicant’s current valid passport.
  • copy of the return air ticket.
  • copy of hotel booking in Bahrain (optional)

The visa can be used only once for a single entry, and the length of stay allowed is 2 weeks.

The validity for this type of visa is 90 days, and it must be used within 90 days of approval. If the visa expires before entry to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the applicant must apply again, and another fee must be paid.

It can, however, be extended at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs office (NPRA) in the kingdom of Bahrain on payment of a fee.

Single-entry eVisa price

The total fee for the multiple entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 9,000 (USD 23,870), including the application fee of BD 4,000 (USD 10.609) and the visa fee of BD 5,000 (USD 13.261). Please note that the application fee and visa fee are both non-refundable under any circumstances.

Multiple entry eVisa

The multiple-entry eVisa is issued to eligible visitors and tourists by Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior website, provided travellers are able to meet some of the conditions. Additionally, the applicant must be outside the Kingdom of Bahrain when applying for this visa.

The documents required are as follows:

  • photocopy of the photo page of the applicant’s current valid passport
  • copy of the return air ticket
  • copy of hotel booking in Bahrain

The length of stay allowed in this type of visa is 1 month, and the visa can be used for multiple entries and will be valid for 3 months from the time of entry.

The validity for this type of visa is 90 days and must be used within 90 days of approval. If the visa expires before entry to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the applicant must reapply and is subject to the required fees.

Multiple entry eVisa price

The total fee for the multiple entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 16,000 (USD 42.436), including the application fee of BD 4,000 (USD 10.609) and the visa fee of BD 12,000 (USD 31.827). Please note that the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. However, the visa fee might be refundable under some circumstances.

One year multiple entry eVisa

The visit one year is a type of multiple-entry eVisa issued to eligible visitors and tourists online by Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior.

The documents required are as follows:

  • photocopy of the photo page of the applicant’s current valid passport.
  • copy of the return air ticket.
  • copy of hotel booking in Bahrain.

The total fee for the multiple entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 44,000 (USD 116.701), including the application fee of BD 4,000 (USD 10.609) and the visa fee of BD 40 (USD 106.092). Please note that the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. However, the visa fee might be refundable under some circumstances.

The length of stay allowed is 90 days (per visit), and the visa can be used for multiple entries and will be valid for 1 year from the time of entry.

The validity for this type of visa is 90 days, and it must be used within 90 days of approval. If the visa expires before entry to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the applicant must reapply and is subject to the required fees.

Five-year multiple-entry eVisa

The five-year multiple entry visa is issued to eligible visitors and tourists by Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior.

The documents required are as follows:

  • photocopy of the photo page of the applicant’s current valid passport
  • copy of the return air ticket
  • copy of a stamped bank statement under the visitor’s name covering the last three months with an ending balance of not less than the equivalent of BD 300 (UD 796)
  • copy of hotel booking in Bahrain

The total fee for the multiple entry on-arrival visit visa is BD 64,000 (USD 169.747), including the application fee of BD 4,000 (USD 10.609) and the visa fee of BD 60,000 (USD 159.138). Please note that the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. However, the visa fee might be refundable under some circumstances.

The length of stay allowed in this type of visa is 90 days (per visit).

The validity of the visa is 5 years. This means the visa can be used for multiple entries during this period. It can, however, be extended at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs office (NPRA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain on payment of a fee.

GCC residents eVisa

Please make sure to check your eligibility for the GCC eVisa by visiting the Ministry of Interior website.

Alien residents of GCC countries (Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE) are eligible for an eVisa for either 3 days or 7 days, provided they meet some conditions as mentioned below:

  • visitors must be outside Bahrain. (Visas cannot be applied for by those travellers already in the Kingdom)
  • visitors must travel through Bahrain International Airport. This eVisa cannot be used for travel through the King Fahad Causeway.
  • visitors must have a passport valid for 6 months from arrival in Bahrain.
  • visitors must be capable of supporting themselves (and dependents if travelling with them) during the visit.
  • visitors’ entry must not violate the security and national welfare of Bahrain.
  • visitors must use a GCC eVisa within 30 days of its approval. (After this time, the eVisa will expire, and they will have to apply again and pay another fee).
  • visitors must have used their visa, or it should have expired before they can apply for another visa. (It is not possible to have more than one visa issued for a passport at a time).

Similar to the Visit eVisa, it is an electronic visa obtained from Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior. There is no need to have a visa stamped on your passport prior to your arrival in Bahrain.

The GCC eVisa allows you to stay in Bahrain for either 3 days or 7 days, depending on the eVisa purchased. However, an extension can be obtained for the same period by visiting NPRA in Bahrain. (Some nationalities can stay longer). The GCC eVisa is able to be used only once for a single entry.

Please note that if an eVisa application is not approved, the visa fee will be refunded, but there will be no refund of the processing fee.

Bahrain visa status check

  • check out the Ministry of Interior Affairs here
  • enter your passport number, nationality and date of birth
  • enter the Application Reference Number you were given when you applied for your Visa.
  • click “Submit” and view the status of your visa application

Bahrain visit visa extension

Extension of visit visas can be issued to eligible visitors and guarantors (government organizations, companies and citizens). This service is done in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
