Which entry route applies to you
Belarus added India to its e-visa list on 14 September 2026, so a short trip no longer needs an embassy appointment. The government published no start date. Until the portal lists India, the Schengen route is the one that works today.
Minsk is the only Belarusian airport with real connections from India.
What it costs to fly from India
Delhi is the quickest way in and the most expensive. Hyderabad costs under half as much on a single flydubai connection, and adds about five hours. Nothing in the sample routed through Russia, which keeps the visa-free option intact.
Where to stay in Minsk
Every hotel here comes in under INR 22,000 a night. Almost all of them sit inside the ring of sights below, so in Minsk location is rarely what you are paying for.
These twelve cleared the rating filter, out of about thirty Minsk properties on Wego.
What to see
All but one of these sit within a mile of the centre, so a first trip barely needs transport. The National Library is the outlier, and the metro runs to it.
Questions
Can Indian citizens apply for a Belarus e-visa right now?
Not confirmed yet. The Council of Ministers added India to the e-visa list on 14 September 2026, but published no start date, and the foreign ministry’s e-visa page still describes the scheme as covering 67 countries. Check the e-Pasluga portal before you book anything.
How much does the Belarus e-visa cost for an Indian passport?
EUR 66 in total. The foreign ministry says the e-visa consular fee is the same as the fee for an ordinary visa, and charges a EUR 6 internet and service fee on top. The Belarusian embassy in New Delhi publishes that ordinary fee for Indian citizens as EUR 60.
Do I still need a visa for Belarus if I hold a Schengen visa?
No, and this route already works. An Indian passport holder with an unexpired multiple-entry Schengen or EU visa that has been used at least once can enter for up to 30 days through Minsk, Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Mogilev or Vitebsk airport. You will need EUR 25 a day, medical cover of EUR 10,000 and an onward ticket.
Why can I not fly to Minsk through Moscow?
Belarus treats flights arriving from Russia, or leaving for a Russian airport, as internal, so the visa-free rule does not apply to them. In practice this rarely bites: none of the itineraries sampled for this page routed through Russia at all. They connect through Istanbul, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Colombo, Bahrain or Dhaka.
Which Indian city is cheapest for flights to Minsk?
Hyderabad, by a wide margin, at from INR 71,644 return on the sample date. It runs on a single flydubai connection through Dubai. Delhi is the fastest at about eighteen and a half hours outbound, but it was more than twice the price. Ahmedabad also has a live route page, from INR 119,885.

How these figures were produced
- Fares are a return trip for one adult, leaving 10 November 2026 and back on 17 November. That window is far enough out to be bookable and clear of the festival peak. A second window in December was checked for Delhi and Hyderabad, and the gap between them held.
- A visa rule change has no travel dates of its own, so every price here is a “from” snapshot and every link opens an undated search. Pick your own dates on Wego and the price will move.
- Ahmedabad was priced at from INR 119,885 and left out of the chooser, because a control row is capped at six options. Its route page is live.
- Hotel rates are for two adults sharing, over three nights, within 20km of the city centre. Minsk has no working Wego hotel city code, so the search ran on coordinates and the property links were each confirmed against the site’s own redirect.
- The two official sources disagree on registration: the ministry says over ten working days, the embassy in New Delhi says over five. This page uses five, because registering early costs nothing.
- Hotels are banded by nightly rate because a landmark control would have been dead: the six sights were tested against the qualifying hotels and every pair returned the same five or six properties, since Minsk’s good hotels sit in the same two kilometres.
- Within each band, hotels are ranked by guest score and need at least 20 reviews, which is why several high-scoring properties with a dozen ratings are absent. The cheapest band is the disclosed exception to the four-star floor.
- Hotel photographs are the properties’ own, served through Wego and resized to 640 by 400. Every gallery was eyeballed before picking: the first image for the cheapest hotel showed a wine bottle, so a plain room shot was used instead.
- The e-visa fee is not published as a single figure for India. It is the embassy’s EUR 60 consular fee plus the ministry’s EUR 6 service charge.
