British Airways continues to warn that some Middle East flights are cancelled or temporarily suspended because of regional uncertainty and airspace restrictions.
As of 7 September 2026, BA’s travel-news page still lists Abu Dhabi, Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Tel Aviv and Riyadh as affected destinations. This does not mean every flight to those cities is cancelled: a Wego search on 7 September returned BA123 from London Heathrow to Doha for 8 September, departing at 21:10 and arriving at 06:45 the next day, local times.
British Airways Middle East operation
BA has not published a firm public restart date for every suspended destination on its travel-news page.
Instead, the airline is giving affected customers refund and fee-free change options for bookings to the listed cities through 31 October 2026.

Resumption dates and uncertainty
BA’s current customer notice does not give a confirmed restart date for every suspended route. The checked Wego timetable returned no BA nonstop London-Dubai service; that result alone does not establish a suspension end date.
The BA123 search result is a dated flight offer, not confirmation that the flight has departed or that the whole Middle East network has resumed.
Airspace and travel-advice context
EASA’s active Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman bulletin, revised on 31 August and valid through 30 September 2026, advises against operations over specified Gulf waters, with an exception for necessary arrivals and departures in the Persian Gulf. It advises caution over land in the affected flight information regions.
The UK FCDO no longer advises against all but essential travel to the UAE, Qatar or Bahrain. Its current advice still warns of possible flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures and travel disruption.
Refunds and changes
BA says customers with eligible tickets issued by 1 April 2026 for the listed destinations, for travel up to and including 31 October 2026, can request a full refund even if their flight is still scheduled to operate.
- Refund: available for tickets issued by 1 April 2026 for travel between 28 February and 31 October 2026 where BA’s listed destination rules apply.
- Change: for travel from 2 June, customers can move the journey to a later date or rebook onto a different BA route without a change fee.
- Fare difference: BA says any fare difference may still apply.
