How You Can Pay on Wego in Egypt
As a licensed local merchant, Wego shows prices in Egyptian pounds, charges you exactly what’s shown, and lets your bank treat the payment as domestic rather than international. That cuts cross-border fees and means fewer declined cards.

One thing to check first: Wego shows results from hundreds of airlines and travel providers, and some bookings finish on Wego while others hand you off to the airline or agency to complete.
Valu only shows up on bookings that complete on Wego. If you’re sent to a provider’s own site, you’ll see that provider’s payment methods instead.
What Valu Is
Valu is an Egyptian consumer finance company, majority-owned by EFG Holding and listed on the Egyptian Exchange under the ticker VALU. It’s regulated by Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority as a licensed non-bank finance company, and it works with thousands of merchants across categories including electronics, healthcare, education, and travel.
You sign up inside the Valu app itself, separate from Wego, using your Egyptian national ID and some personal and financial details.
Valu reviews your application and sets your own spending limit, which is the ceiling on what you can split, so check it covers the whole booking if you’re paying for the family.
How to Book a Flight with Valu on Wego
- Search your route on Wego flights or in the Wego app.
- Select your flight, add every traveller, and go to checkout.
- Choose Valu as your payment method. You’ll be sent to Valu to complete payment securely.
- Pick how many months you want to pay over. Review the monthly instalment, any admin fee, and the total you’ll repay.
- Confirm the plan. Your tickets are issued as normal, and you repay Valu monthly.
The same flow applies to hotel bookings covered by the partnership.
What the Instalments Actually Cost
A longer repayment period lowers your monthly payment, but the price of the trip doesn’t change.

A Worked Example: Cairo to Jeddah for a Family of Four
October is a popular window for Egyptian travellers heading to Saudi Arabia. Searching flights to Jeddah from Cairo for 15 to 22 October 2026, the cheapest return fare on Wego was USD 190 per person, a direct flyadeal service both ways. Saudia direct options started at USD 199 and Air Cairo at USD 194.
For a family of four, that’s roughly USD 760 in flights before hotels in Jeddah.
Paid in one charge, that’s a significant month. Spread over 12 months, it’s a line item. Spread over 60, it’s small, but you’re still repaying it two summers from now.

When Instalments Make Sense
A reasonable fit if you:
- Have steady monthly income
- Are booking several tickets at once
- Want to lock in today’s fare before it climbs
- Are covering a fixed-date trip, like a family visit or a wedding
Worth reconsidering if you:
- Can comfortably pay in full
- Already have other Valu or bank instalment plans running
- Have irregular income
- Are tempted to pick the longest tenor purely because the monthly number looks small
Spreading a cost is a cash flow tool. It doesn’t change the price of the trip.
Before You Confirm
- Check the total repayable, not just the monthly number.
- Ask whether the plan is genuinely 0%. A 0% interest plan can still carry an admin fee.
- Confirm your approved limit covers the whole booking. Large family totals may only be partly approved.
- Match your payment dates to your salary date so no instalment lands short.
- Understand the refund path. Cancelling a booking on an instalment plan takes coordination between the provider and Valu, and your instalments continue until the refund is processed.
- Know the late payment terms. Missed instalments can carry charges and affect your future limit.
