Worth knowing before you compare: Gulf–India fares are running roughly 15 to 20 percent above summer 2025, and Middle East capacity from India was down about 6 percent year on year in July 2026. The fares below are the cheapest available on this corridor today — they are not cheap by historical standards.

Booking tips that actually move the price

Rules that apply to every route

  • Connecting fares undercut the nonstop on five of these six routes — and are almost never worth it. From Jeddah, a Gulf Air itinerary via Bahrain prices at $252 against $425 nonstop, but the outbound takes 25 hours 45 minutes instead of 5 hours 25 minutes. Dubai’s cheapest connection is $262 against $323 nonstop, at 22 hours 25 minutes outbound. Abu Dhabi’s is $241, routed via Mangalore, at 14 hours 30 minutes. In each case you are paying for the saving with most of a day.
  • Two exceptions are worth pricing. Dammam’s cheapest connection is $313 on Oman Air via Muscat at 8 hours outbound, against $365 nonstop — a $52 saving for about 3 hours 35 minutes extra, which some travellers will take. Kuwait City is the opposite case: its $255 nonstop is simultaneously the cheapest and the fastest option on the route, so there is nothing to trade.
  • Check the checked-baggage allowance before comparing a budget fare to a full-service one. Half the cheapest fares here sit on low-cost carriers. One checked bag added to a flynas or IndiGo fare can erase the entire gap to a ticket that already includes it.
  • Pricing one-way? Price that leg on its own rather than assuming it is half of a return fare. Gulf-to-Delhi and Delhi-to-Gulf do not always price the same on the identical aircraft.

Compare neighbouring cities before you commit

  • Riyadh is $95 cheaper than Jeddah on these dates, and Dammam sits between them at $365. If your Saudi departure city is flexible at all, price all three — the spread across the three Saudi origins here is wider than the spread across the two UAE ones.
  • Abu Dhabi and Dubai sit about 90 minutes apart, and on this date Abu Dhabi’s Etihad nonstop is $15 cheaper than Dubai’s. That is close enough that the better answer depends on your own dates, so price both.

Route quirks worth knowing

  • Jeddah is the most expensive of the six, despite flying more weekly seats to Delhi than Riyadh does. Saudia carries most of that capacity on widebodies, and IndiGo is the only low-cost carrier on the route against two out of Riyadh. Fewer budget seats competing means the cheapest fare sits higher.
  • On the Riyadh route, the budget carrier beats both full-service options. flynas prices at $330 nonstop, with Saudia and Air India also flying the route and IndiGo the other low-cost option. Riyadh Air has announced Delhi but is not yet flying it, so do not wait for it on 2026 dates.
  • Dammam has no full-service nonstop at all. IndiGo and Air India Express are the only carriers flying it directly, so budget for bags on both legs or price Riyadh instead.
  • Kuwait’s $255 floor may not hold. IndiGo joins Kuwait City–Delhi on 2 September 2026, adding a third carrier alongside Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways. Kuwait International Airport is also still working back to full capacity after its 55-day closure earlier in 2026, so schedules there are less settled than elsewhere on this list.
  • Dubai has the most choice and is still not the cheapest. Around 13 daily departures across Emirates, flydubai, Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet, yet Air India’s $323 undercuts the cheapest Emirates nonstop at $381. Volume does not automatically mean the lowest fare.
Before you fly: Air Suvidha 2.0 has been mandatory for every passenger arriving in India since 25 June 2026, including Indian citizens, and is separate from the e-Arrival Card. Complete it at airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in before you head to the airport.

When to book, and when to fly

This corridor follows the Gulf school calendar and the Hindu festival calendar, not the European holiday calendar. Use this table to plan how far ahead to book depending on when you want to fly.

Period What happens What to do
Mid-Jun to Aug Peak. Gulf schools break and Indian expatriate families travel home. UAE terms restart 31 August 2026, so return legs crowd hardest in late August. Book three to four months ahead
Late Oct to mid-Nov Peak. Diwali falls 6 to 10 November 2026, with the main day on 8 November. Wego’s Dubai–India fare analysis found the week before Diwali prices 5 to 11 percent above Diwali week itself. Book around seven weeks ahead, so mid-September for 2026
Late Nov to mid-Dec Peak, and the annual high on Dubai–India. A narrow 2026 wedding calendar (20 to 26 November, then 2, 3 and 12 December) overlaps the UAE winter break from 14 December. Book four to five months ahead
Mid-Jan to Mar Shoulder. Delhi’s best weather once the winter fog clears, and fares well below the November and December peaks. Six to ten weeks ahead
Apr to early Jun, mid-Sep to mid-Oct Low season and the cheapest fares of the year. Mid-September is the documented annual floor. April and May bring Delhi heat above 45°C. Four to eight weeks is usually enough

The dates priced on this page (14 to 21 October 2026) fall in the post-monsoon low window, after the Gulf summer rush and before the Diwali run-up begins in late October. That is a large part of why fares across the corridor sit where they do.

One counterintuitive point: November to January is not the bargain window it might look like on a weather chart. Fares are at their annual highest and Delhi is at its worst, with hazardous air quality through the winter and dense fog that regularly grounds flights — on 31 December 2025 alone, 78 arrivals and 70 departures at Delhi were cancelled. If your dates are flexible, mid-January onwards is the better trade.

Frequently asked questions

Which Gulf city has the cheapest flights to New Delhi?

Kuwait City. On the dates priced here, the cheapest nonstop return from Kuwait City was $255 on Kuwait Airways, against $425 from Jeddah for a flight only about 70 minutes longer.

Is it cheaper to fly to Delhi nonstop or with a connection?

Connections are cheaper on five of the six routes priced here, but rarely worth taking. The Jeddah connection saves $173 and costs an extra 20 hours outbound. Only Dammam’s Oman Air routing via Muscat, $52 cheaper for about 3 hours 35 minutes more, is a reasonable trade. Kuwait City’s nonstop is both the cheapest and the fastest option on its route.

When is the cheapest time of year to fly to Delhi from the Gulf?

Mid-September to mid-October is the annual floor, followed by April to early June. Avoid mid-June to August, the Diwali window in early November, and late November to mid-December, when Gulf school holidays, the festival calendar and the wedding season drive fares to their highs.

How far in advance should I book?

Four to eight weeks for the low season, around seven weeks for Diwali, and three to five months for the summer or the late-November-to-December peak. Demand on this corridor is heavily family and festival travel that books early and rarely shifts, so late booking is penalised more than on a comparable leisure route.

Do I need to do anything before arriving in India?

Yes. Air Suvidha 2.0 has been mandatory since 25 June 2026 for every passenger arriving in India, including Indian citizens, and is separate from the e-Arrival Card. Complete it online before departure.
