2026 weekly trend: mid-May was the peak

Week by week through May and June 2026, the pattern is clear: fares spiked in the week of 11 May — driven by school-year-end travel and early summer demand — then dropped sharply.

The cheapest window observed so far this summer was the week of 1 June, when Mumbai touched KD 97 one-way and Delhi KD 106. Late June saw Mumbai dip again to the same low.

Kuwait to Mumbai is the cheapest entry point

Averaged across the last three months, the Kuwait–Mumbai route is the cheapest entry point to India by a clear margin.

Delhi and Bangalore follow at a small gap. Kuwait – Kochi and Kuwait – Hyderabad sit roughly 30% above Mumbai — a meaningful premium, especially for families travelling together.

Destination Avg one-way fare (KWD) vs. Mumbai
Mumbai BOM KD 113
Delhi DEL KD 123 +KD 10
Bangalore BLR KD 126 +KD 13
Kochi COK KD 146 +KD 33
Hyderabad HYD KD 147 +KD 34

Kuwait to Delhi is the closest second to Mumbai

Delhi averages KD 123 one-way over the last three months — just KD 10 above Mumbai, the smallest gap of any route. It’s also the second-cheapest fare in the July snapshot, at KD 50.97 one-way direct on Jazeera Airways.

The 2026 weekly pattern mirrors Mumbai closely: fares peaked at KD 172 the week of 11 May, then fell to a low of KD 106 the week of 1 June — a 38% drop. In 2025, Delhi fell from a June peak of KD 65 to an August low of KD 47, in line with the rest of the routes.

Kuwait to Bangalore breaks from the pattern

Bangalore averages KD 126 one-way, KD 13 above Mumbai, but its 2026 weekly fares don’t follow the same May-peak, June-low shape as the other routes. The cheapest week so far was 18 May at KD 116 — a full two weeks before Mumbai and Delhi bottomed out — and it touched that same KD 116 again the week of 1 June before climbing back to KD 124 by late June.

Current pricing reflects that: the July snapshot shows Kuwait–Bangalore at KD 62.04 with a stop, more expensive right now than Delhi or Hyderabad’s direct fares. But 2025 data suggests Bangalore rewards patience — its August 2025 average of KD 44 undercut every route except Mumbai, so a similar convergence is plausible for August 2026.

Kuwait to Kochi/Kerala flights get cheaper later

The KD 33 Kochi premium over Mumbai narrows significantly in August. Based on 2025 data, all five routes converge to within KD 5–10 of each other by mid-August.

If your family is in Kerala, August is when flying into Kochi costs nearly the same as flying into Mumbai, as you will see below.

Kuwait to Hyderabad carries the highest premium, but current fares buck that

Hyderabad carries the largest average premium over Mumbai — KD 147 one-way, +KD 34, tied with Kochi. It also had the sharpest 2026 spike of any route, touching KD 202 the week of 11 May, and it was the slowest to recover, climbing back to KD 150 by mid-June rather than staying near its KD 128 low.

Despite that average premium, the July snapshot shows IndiGo flying Kuwait–Hyderabad direct at KD 56.04 — cheaper right now than the Bangalore or Kochi fares. In 2025, Hyderabad fell from a June peak of KD 80 to an August low of KD 48, matching Kochi as the most expensive route in season but converging with everyone else by August.

The 2025 seasonal pattern: August fares were cheaper than June

The full summer of 2025 makes the seasonal shape unambiguous.

From a June peak, fares fell steadily across all five routes through July and into August, bottoming out in the weeks of 11–18 August.

Jun 2025 (peak) KD 64 KD 65 KD 70 KD 82 KD 80

Monthly averages · One-way · KWD · Kuwait (KWI) to each city · 2025

By August 2025, the spread between cities had almost entirely collapsed — Kochi, typically the most expensive route, was trading at the same level as Mumbai and Bangalore.

The city premium that exists in May and June largely disappears by August.

What this means for 2026 bookings

2026 fares are running roughly double 2025 levels — the Gulf crisis and associated fuel surcharges are a real factor. But the seasonal shape has been consistent across both years and all five routes.

If August 2026 follows the same pattern, one-way fares from Kuwait could fall 35–45% from current June levels.

Book now if you need certainty; watch fares through July if you have flexibility.

Three things to know before you book

  1. August is historically the cheapest month. Based on 2025 data, all five routes hit their summer floor in the weeks of 11–18 August — roughly 40% below June peaks. If you can travel in August, the data consistently favours it.
  2. 2026 fares are roughly 2× higher than 2025. The seasonal shape should still hold, but budget accordingly — absolute prices are elevated versus last year.
  3. These are one-way fares. Return fares vary by airline. Apply the same logic to your return leg: an August departure from India back to Kuwait is likely to be among the cheapest slots for the return too.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cheapest route from Kuwait to India?

Kuwait to Mumbai (KWI–BOM) is the cheapest route, averaging KD 113 one-way over the last three months (June 2026). Delhi follows at KD 123. Kochi and Hyderabad are typically KD 33–34 more expensive than Mumbai on average, though this gap narrows significantly in August.

When is the cheapest time to fly from Kuwait to Kochi (Kerala)?

Mid-to-late August, based on 2025 summer data. Kuwait–Kochi fares dropped from peaks above KD 90 one-way in late May 2025 to around KD 44–50 by mid-August — a fall of over 45%. The same seasonal pattern is expected in August 2026.

Why are Kuwait to India flights more expensive in 2026?

Fares on Kuwait–India routes are running approximately double their 2025 levels. The primary drivers are the 2026 Gulf crisis and fuel surcharges that airlines have applied across Middle East routes. The seasonal pattern — cheaper in August than June — is expected to remain, but the base level is higher than 2025.

Is it worth flying via Dubai or Doha to save money?

Connecting via a hub occasionally saves money on the Kochi and Hyderabad routes but adds 3–6 hours of travel time. Direct flights operate from Kuwait International Airport (KWI) to all five cities. Compare both options when searching — the direct price is often competitive, particularly on Mumbai and Delhi.

How far ahead should I book Kuwait to India flights?

The data doesn’t show a strong advantage to booking months in advance — the seasonal drop into August is demand-driven, not inventory-driven. Set a Wego fare alert and book when you see a level you’re comfortable with. For July travel, booking 4–6 weeks ahead is a reasonable window.
