It competes on price rather than on cabin comfort against the other three nonstop carriers.
The nonstop saves roughly four to six hours each way against a Gulf connection. Whether that is worth $1,600 to $2,900 depends on how much a layover in Abu Dhabi, Doha or Dubai costs you in comfort.

Why the cheapest fare on this route is about to disappear
IndiGo launched nonstop Delhi to Heathrow service on 2 February 2026, flying a Boeing 787 leased from Norse Atlantic Airways. The seat sold as business class on Wego is a wide recliner, not a flat bed.
IndiGo has confirmed it will pause the route on 25 October 2026, when the leased aircraft go back to Norse Atlantic, and will not resume nonstop widebody flying to London until its own Airbus A350s arrive in 2027.

The one-stop options, and what “lie-flat” really means on each
Every major Gulf and European carrier sells a business class connection through its hub, but the seat quality can differ between the two legs of the same ticket, and the marketing does not always say so.
Turkish Airlines via Istanbul is the most consistent option we could verify, with a genuine flat-bed seat on both legs of the journey.
Etihad via Abu Dhabi has the cheapest one-stop fare on the route. Its Delhi to Abu Dhabi flights all got flat-bed seats in May 2026, though we could not independently confirm that every Abu Dhabi to London flight carries the same standard.
Qatar Airways via Doha markets its Qsuite, widely considered one of the best seats in the industry, but it is not guaranteed on the Delhi to Doha leg, which often flies older aircraft without it. You may start your trip in a standard flat seat and finish in a Qsuite, or the other way round.
