The Ulaanbaatar flight leaves in the small hours, so you land in Delhi in time for a full first day.
Hunnu Air started nonstop flights between Delhi and Ulaanbaatar on 28 September 2026, once a week on Mondays. Before this, the trip took 13 to 18 hours with a change in Beijing or Incheon, The Tribune reports. The nonstop takes about five and a half hours.
The route runs until 27 March 2027 on the airline’s published timetable, which says times may change without notice. The aircraft is an Embraer E195-E2, according to AeroRoutes.
Indian travelers still need a visa for Mongolia. Some reports of the launch said the two countries offer visa-free travel. Mongolia’s official list of visa-exempt countries does not include India, so apply for the e-visa before you book.
Planning Around a Monday Flight
- One flight a week each way: you fly out on a Monday and come back on a Monday, so a round trip on the nonstop lasts about a week.
- Leaving Delhi at 08:00: you land in Ulaanbaatar at 16:00, in time to check in and settle before evening.
- Leaving Ulaanbaatar at 03:30: head to the airport late on Sunday night. You reach Delhi at 07:00 on Monday morning.
- Time difference: Ulaanbaatar is two and a half hours ahead of Delhi.
- Winter season: the route runs through Mongolia’s winter, so pack warm clothing.
Visas and Baggage Before You Book
- Indians visiting Mongolia: India is not on the list of countries exempt from tourist visas in 2026. Indian citizens can apply online at evisa.mn instead.
- How the e-visa works: it covers stays of up to 30 days, and you receive it by email within 48 hours, says the Embassy of Mongolia in New Delhi. Carry a digital or printed copy for the airline and border officers.
- Mongolians visiting India: Mongolia is on India’s e-Visa eligible list, so you can apply online before you fly.
- Baggage: check the allowance on your ticket before you pay, especially if you are carrying winter clothing.
The Delhi flight lands in Ulaanbaatar at 16:00, so a room from your arrival day is enough. On the way back, the flight leaves at 03:30 on Monday, so plan to check out on Sunday evening.
