Several of Dubai’s most iconic hotels are closing this summer, some for full refurbishments, some partially, and one permanently.

If you’re planning a stay in Dubai between April and November 2026, here’s exactly which properties are closing, when they shut, and when they’re expected back.

Burj Al Arab

Closed: 15 April 2026. Expected reopening: late 2027.

Jumeirah Burj Al Arab is shut for an 18-month restoration — its first full overhaul since opening in 1999 — with French interior architect Tristan Auer leading the project, according to The National.

Dubai’s Iconic Burj Al Arab Closes for Restoration: When Will It Reopen?

Park Hyatt Dubai

Closing: May 2026. Expected reopening: November 2026.

Park Hyatt Dubai is entering the final phase of a long-running renovation that has been in motion since 2021, covering guest rooms, public spaces and repositioning within the wider Dubai Creek Resort.

Guests with existing reservations are being contacted and offered rebooking options across other Hyatt properties in Dubai during the closure.

The hotel has framed the overhaul as “refinement rather than a full reset” and is running a “Perfecting Elegance” campaign for guests ahead of the closure.

Armani Hotel Dubai

Closed: 1 April 2026. Expected reopening: Q4 2026 (booking channels currently show unavailability until 4 January 2027).

The world’s first Armani-branded hotel, inside the Burj Khalifa, has shut for a full transformation rather than a partial upgrade, with the operator targeting a Q4 2026 return, though booking channels currently show unavailability until 4 January 2027.

The rest of Burj Khalifa — including At the Top observation decks, restaurants and attractions — remains fully open and unaffected by the hotel closure.

St. Regis Dubai, The Palm

Partially closed: 12 April 2026. Expected full reopening: 1 September 2026.

The Palm Jumeirah property is not fully shut, but has closed off guest rooms, spa and most services since mid-April as part of a phased refurbishment.

Several dining venues remain operational during the works, including RÜYA, Cordelia, Dip Pool Bar, the St. Regis Bar and the St. Regis Gardens rooftop destination (home to Trèsind Studio, Chez Wam, Signor Sassi, LEÑA, SMOKEDROOM, Aretha and Hanu). Room bookings are unavailable until 31 August 2026.

Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Media City

Closing: 30 April 2026. Expected reopening: 2027 under new management.

Radisson Blu Media City is shutting on 30 April for a comprehensive refurbishment after being acquired by Select Group for over AED 200 million — the highest hotel transaction ever recorded in Dubai’s Media Free Zone.

Catering and events services will continue until the end of 2026, but the hotel is expected to reopen under a different operator in 2027.

JW Marriott Marquis Dubai

Renovation: ongoing from April 2026. Hotel remains open throughout.

The world’s third-tallest hotel has kicked off a major phased refurbishment of all 1,608 rooms and suites, plus upgrades to signature restaurants Prime68, Vault and Kitchen6.

Unlike the others on this list, JW Marriott Marquis is not closing — one of its two towers stays fully operational while the other is worked on, with key venues like Saray Spa remaining open, per Hotelier Middle East.

Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort

Closed permanently: 10 April 2026.

Anantara World Islands has ceased operations entirely with operator Minor Hotels citing “a combination of external factors” rather than a single cause.

The 70-room island resort opened in 2021 and required a boat transfer from Jumeirah 4 Port to reach.

Minor Hotels will continue operating Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, Dukes The Palm, NH Collection Dubai The Palm and Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate in the UAE, according to Khaleej Times.

Will my existing booking at these hotels be honoured?

No, affected guests are being rebooked or refunded. Park Hyatt is moving guests to other Hyatt properties in Dubai, while Armani, St. Regis The Palm and Radisson Blu Media City are closing their booking channels during the works entirely.

Can I still visit Burj Khalifa if Armani Hotel is closed?

Yes, the rest of Burj Khalifa remains fully open. At the Top observation decks, restaurants and retail attractions inside the tower are unaffected by the hotel closure.

Is JW Marriott Marquis taking bookings during its renovation?

Yes, the hotel is operating normally throughout the phased refurbishment. One tower remains fully open while work is carried out in the other, and key restaurants, event spaces and Saray Spa continue to welcome guests.

Are any other Palm Jumeirah hotels affected?

St. Regis The Palm is the only Palm Jumeirah property currently in partial closure. Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort and other Palm hotels remain open for bookings as usual.
