Allowances are route-banded. On domestic Egyptian flights the checked allowance drops to one bag, and on flights to or from the United States you may carry only one cabin bag plus a personal item. Some routes also cap every cabin at a single checked piece, so confirm your route before you fly to or from Cairo.

EgyptAir Plus miles are earned on the booking class behind your fare, not the fare name. The most discounted classes (typically Best Offer) earn as little as 25% of the distance flown, Good Deal earns 100%, Economy Flex earns 150%, and Business earns 200%.

Business sits above every Economy fare, with two 8 kg cabin bags, two 32 kg checked bags, premium dining, lounge access and priority.

It comes in more than one fare level, from a lower-priced changeable fare up to a fully flexible one with free changes and the most miles. The exact conditions and charges show on the fare you choose when you book.

What It Costs to Change or Cancel

Change costs depend on the fare you bought:

Best Offer: the highest change fee, plus any fare difference; changes allowed up to 24 hours before departure.
Good Deal: a lower change fee, plus fare difference.
Economy Flex: no change fee; you pay only the fare difference.
Business: low change fees, often waived on the most flexible fare, plus any fare difference.

EgyptAir does not publish a single flat change-fee table for every market on its public fare pages. The public fare pages state whether a charge applies, while the exact amount is set in the fare rules shown when you book or manage the ticket.

If your fare rules allow a change, you still pay any fare difference.

The Fare-Difference Rule

This catches people out: a change fee, waived or paid, only covers the change itself.

If the new flight costs more, you pay the gap. If it costs less, EgyptAir keeps the difference, it is not refunded to you.

Fares That Follow Different Rules

Promotional, free and gifted tickets are usually excluded from changes and refunds.
Group bookings (typically nine or more passengers) follow separate rules, not the standard fare conditions.

Refundable vs Non-Refundable, Explained

Whether you get money back depends on the fare you bought.

When a fare is refundable, request it through the original place of issue. EgyptAir’s online refund form says eligible refunds are processed according to fare rules and can take up to 21 working days.

Travel voucher validity: EgyptAir’s current public refund pages do not publish a separate general voucher-expiry rule for ordinary voluntary refunds.

Check the voucher or ticket conditions issued with your booking before relying on a credit.

Two situations override your fare’s normal rules:

If EgyptAir cancels your flight: involuntary refund rules apply; if no part of the ticket has been used, the refund equals the fare paid.
If you no-show without advising EgyptAir: EgyptAir may cancel your return or onward reservations; refund and tax treatment then follows fare rules and applicable tax rules.

Adding Bags, Seats or Meals After Booking

You do not have to buy a pricier bundle just to add extras. Through Manage Booking you can add checked bags, choose seats or pre-order on any fare, including Best Offer.

Pre-booking online is cheaper than paying at the airport. Add bags before departure, reserve seats up to check-in, and request special meals at least 24 hours ahead.

There is no one-click way to swap your whole bundle, so compare the cost of the add-ons you need against simply booking the next fare up.

How to Cancel or Change Online

Open EgyptAir’s Manage Booking and enter your booking reference and last name.
Select the trip you want to change or cancel.
For a change, pick new dates and pay any change fee plus fare difference.
For a cancellation, request a refund through the applicable EgyptAir refund process; eligible cash refunds go back to the original payment method.
Confirm; EgyptAir emails your new itinerary or refund confirmation.

Booked through a travel agent or online travel agency? You must cancel or change through them, as EgyptAir cannot service those tickets directly.
