When Is Eid Al Adha 2027 in the UAE?

Eid Al Adha 2027 is expected to fall on Sunday, 16 May 2027, corresponding to 10 Dhul Hijjah 1448 AH. The celebration marks the culmination of the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah.

Arafah Day falls on Saturday, 15 May 2027 — when pilgrims gather at Mount Arafat on one of the holiest days in the Islamic calendar.

As with all Islamic occasions, these dates rest on astronomical forecasts. The UAE’s Moon Sighting Committee will confirm them once the Dhul Hijjah crescent is observed, which could shift everything by a day.

The crescent is expected to be sighted on the evening of Thursday, 6 May 2027. If confirmed, Dhul Hijjah will begin on Friday, 7 May.

UAE Public Holidays for Eid Al Adha 2027

Under the standing Cabinet Resolution No. (27) of 2024, Arafah Day and the three days of Eid Al Adha bring a four-day paid public holiday for both the public and private sectors.

For 2027, the break is expected to run from Saturday, 15 May to Tuesday, 18 May, pending the official moon sighting and the government announcement.

All four days are paid days off for public and private sector employees.

For private sector staff required to work on any of these days, Article 28 of UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 entitles you to a substitute day off, or your regular wage plus at least 50 per cent of your basic salary.

How to Maximise Your Eid Al Adha 2027 Break

The UAE weekend falls on Saturday and Sunday, so the holiday overlaps it this year. You still get four straight days off, from Saturday 15 May through Tuesday 18 May, without touching annual leave.
