What exactly is the Emirates student discount?
Emirates’ student offer lets eligible students save on their base fare and pack extra baggage on top. The deal is global but resonates most with those transiting the Dubai hub.
To qualify, you must be a student aged 16–31 and an Emirates Skywards member. Enter the promo code STUDENT when booking on Emirates.com or in the app.
As of June 2026, the live offer uses the STUDENT code for travel dates from 1 June 2026 onward, giving up to 10% off Economy and 5% off Premium Economy and Business Class fares.
An earlier promotion using the code STOFFER offered up to 15% off Economy for travel before 31 May 2026, but its 31 March 2026 booking deadline has passed and it is no longer bookable.
Who is eligible (and who isn’t)?

Yes, if you are aged 16–31 at the time of your outbound travel date.
Do I need to prove enrollment?
Airport agents ask for either of the following at check-in:
- A current photo student ID, or
- An official school acceptance or enrollment letter (digital copies are usually accepted, but print a backup).
Must I join Emirates Skywards?
Yes. Membership is free and required to access the student discount.
Parents or guardians can register students aged 16 or 17, while those aged 18 and above can enroll themselves directly.
Can parents pay with their card?
Yes. The ticket must be in the student’s name, but any credit card can cover the fare.
How do I book the Emirates student discount?
- Create or log in to your Emirates Skywards account.

- Carry your physical student ID or acceptance letter (English or Arabic preferred).

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Does the student discount apply to First Class?
No. Emirates lists the offer only for Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class fares; First Class is not included.
Can I book more than one student on the same ticket?
No. Student fares can only be booked for one student per booking, so each student needs their own reservation (PNR).
Can I add non-student travel companions to a student-fare booking?
Not within the same discounted ticket. Book their seats separately and then ask Emirates to link the PNRs so you can travel together.
What are the change and cancellation fees on a student fare?
Fees depend on the fare type you book. Flex and Flex Plus fares typically allow one free date change, while Saver fares carry a change fee plus any fare difference. No-show and cancellation charges may also apply, so check the fare rules shown at booking.
Is there a 24-hour free-cancellation window?
Yes, but only for bookings that include at least one flight segment to or from the United States and are made seven days or more before the first departure. In that case, Emirates lets you cancel within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund under its U.S. Customer Service Plan. This does not apply to purely non-U.S. itineraries.
Does the extra baggage allowance combine with other promo baggage offers?
No. The extra 10 kg or one extra piece is in addition to the standard allowance but excludes any promotional allowances already included in your itinerary.
Is the extra-baggage perk available on flights to or from the USA and Canada?
No. The fare discount still applies, but the additional baggage perk does not; standard checked baggage allowances apply on these routes.
Can I pay using Cash+Miles and still keep the student benefits?
Yes. Emirates lets you pay in full using Miles or a combination of Cash+Miles, and the student perks remain as long as the promo code is applied during booking.
