The new Dubai to Helsinki flight
Emirates starts flying Dubai to Helsinki on 1 October 2026, its first Finland route. An A350 works both legs daily, year-round, the only nonstop after Finnair dropped its winter service. Fares run AED 2,694 to 2,888 most months. December jumps to AED 3,583, likely the New Year rush.
The same trip in November, its first full month of scheduled service
| Airline | One way | Return from |
|---|---|---|
| Emirates, nonstop | 7h 30m | AED 2,782 |
| Qatar Airways, via Doha | 10h 15m | AED 2,804 |
| Turkish Airlines, via Istanbul | 11h 35m | AED 2,608 |
| Lufthansa, via Munich | 11h 25m | AED 2,044 |
Where to stay in Helsinki
Helsinki gets cheaper the further you sleep from the harbour. A four-star room a tram ride out runs about a third under the same thing in the middle. The centre is small enough to cross on foot, so the trade is money against a short ride.
Pick your own nights and see everything the city has, not only these nine.
Questions
When does the first Emirates flight from Dubai to Helsinki take off?
Emirates begins the route on 1 October 2026. Flight EK167 leaves Dubai in the morning and EK168 comes back the same evening, every day of the week. Emirates is using the A350, so Premium Economy is on the route from the first departure.
Does Emirates fly Dubai to Helsinki all year, or only in winter?
All year. That is the point of the route: Emirates calls it the only year-round direct link between Finland and the UAE. Finnair has flown Helsinki to Dubai as a winter seasonal service, and it has suspended that flight for the 2026/27 winter, which leaves Emirates alone on the route in both directions.
Do the Dubai to Helsinki flight times change during the year?
Yes, and it catches people out. Helsinki’s clocks change in late October, so the October launch week runs on slightly different clock times to the schedule shown above, which is what applies from November through March. Always check the exact time when you book.
Is the Emirates nonstop cheaper than flying via Doha or Istanbul?
Usually not. On the week we sampled, Lufthansa via Munich came in several hundred dirhams below Emirates and Turkish via Istanbul was a little below it, while Qatar Airways via Doha cost about the same. What the nonstop buys is time: between three and four hours less each way, and no connection to miss.
What else is Emirates adding to its network in 2026?
Helsinki is one of several changes, alongside extra daily flights on existing routes. We cover the full set in Emirates new routes 2026.

How these figures were produced
- Fares are a Wego flight search from Dubai to Helsinki, one adult, economy, returning after seven nights, sampled on 16 September 2026 in AED. One departure was sampled per month, on the fifteenth, so the six months are compared on the same day of the month rather than on the cheapest day in each.
- Flight times are read off the inventory actually loaded for sale, not off the January announcement. Two extra departures were sampled either side of the European clock changes to confirm which timetable applies when, which is why October differs from the months after it.
- The comparison table prices the same November week for every airline, one adult, economy, cheapest available, with each rival kept on a single carrier for the whole trip. Self-connecting combinations of two or more budget airlines were excluded: several priced lower but ran past twenty hours each way with no protection if a leg is missed.
- Hotel rates are a Wego search of Helsinki for two adults, one room, two midweek nights in an ordinary week outside any holiday, sampled on 16 September 2026 in AED. Picks needed four stars, a guest score of 8.0 or better and at least 100 reviews. The Cheapest slot drops to three stars so the slot is a real hotel room rather than the lowest number in the city; ferry cabins, hostels and guesthouses were excluded for the same reason. Median four-star rates were 1,641 in the centre and 1,152 further out.
- Baggage allowances and refund terms are not taken from the fare feed, which has known gaps in both directions. Check them on the airline’s own site before you book.
