Etihad Airways and TAP Air Portugal have forged a new partnership to broaden their flight offerings. This collaboration will provide travelers with an expanded range of destinations across North and South America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, according to Wego.

This strategic codeshare agreement is designed to offer passengers from both airlines seamless access to various destinations within each other’s networks. It aligns with Etihad’s goal of bolstering Abu Dhabi’s growth by attracting more visitors, enhancing travel benefits, and providing enriched experiences.

The partnership simplifies travel logistics, allowing guests to make a single booking, undergo one check-in process, and have their baggage smoothly transferred to their final destination.

Etihad customers will benefit from convenient access to TAP’s network, opening doors to iconic cities like Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, San Francisco, and Miami. Additionally, picturesque locations such as São Tomé, Madeira, Malaga, Seville, Valencia, Marrakech, and Dakar become more accessible.

Etihad has emphasized the convenience this collaboration brings, offering guests access to 26 leisure and business destinations within TAP’s network. Simultaneously, TAP customers gain enhanced opportunities to explore Abu Dhabi and seamlessly connect to destinations in the GCC and Seychelles.

Building on Etihad’s non-stop services to Lisbon, the agreement facilitates connections between the two airlines’ networks through major hubs like Frankfurt and London Heathrow. Beyond expanding network reach, it simplifies travel for those visiting Abu Dhabi, a city known for its diverse attractions ranging from the architectural marvel of the Louvre Abu Dhabi to the adrenaline-filled adventures at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

The codeshare agreement, effective from 5 December 2023, promises to enhance travel possibilities for passengers of both airlines, marking a new chapter in global aviation.
