Wego pulled live fare data from its own flight-search connector to see what Etihad Airways return economy tickets from Abu Dhabi actually cost.
The sample below covers eight of Etihad’s core routes, departing AUH on 22 September 2026 and returning 29 September 2026, sampled on 11 August 2026, in US dollars. This is a dated snapshot, so check current fares directly on Wego before you book.

Fleet and aircraft
Etihad operates a fleet of around 130 aircraft. The long-haul backbone is the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, joined by Airbus A350s, Boeing 777s and a returning fleet of Airbus A380s that flies the flagship First Apartment routes.
Sitting alongside those widebodies is a large Airbus A320 and A321 narrowbody fleet, including A321LRs, which covers regional and medium-haul flying such as the new Tashkent service.
The airline’s Journey 2030 strategy has been revised upward to target a fleet of around 200 aircraft and 38 million annual passengers by 2030, backed by Airbus orders for additional A350-1000, A350F and A330neo aircraft placed at the 2025 Dubai Airshow.
Hubs, network and route map
Every Etihad flight connects through Abu Dhabi‘s Zayed International Airport (AUH), the carrier’s only hub.
From there the network reaches more than 110 destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and Australia.
2026 additions include Tashkent, Krakow, Salalah and Damascus, the last of these Etihad’s first return to the Syrian capital in over a decade. The airline has also opened up interline reach into West and Central Africa via Air Peace, Fastjet and Africa World Airlines, alongside the early-stage Latin American connectivity being built with Abra Group.
Cabins and onboard product
Etihad flies Economy, Economy Space and Business Studio across the fleet, plus a first-class product that differs by aircraft.
On the A380 that means the First Apartment and The Residence, a three-room suite with its own living room, bedroom and shower that no other airline offers. Selected Boeing 787s carry the enclosed First Suite instead.
Business Studio seats convert to a fully flat bed with a separate ottoman that doubles as a guest seat, while First Apartment passengers get a private mini-suite with its own wardrobe and vanity area.
Baggage allowance and check-in
Etihad runs two checked-baggage systems, and which one applies depends on where you are flying.
- On US and Canada routes, Economy passengers can check two bags of 23kg each, and Business and First passengers two bags of 32kg each.
- Everywhere else, checked baggage is weight-based and depends on your fare. Economy allowances run from about 20kg up to 40kg, and the cheapest fares include no checked bag at all, so check what your ticket covers before you pack.
No single bag may exceed 32kg under either system.
Cabin baggage is one 7kg bag in Economy, plus a small personal item. Business and First passengers get two cabin bags up to 12kg combined, or one 12kg bag on US routes, plus a personal item up to 5kg.
Etihad Guest Silver, Gold and Platinum members get extra allowance on top: an additional bag on US and Canada routes, or 10kg, 15kg and 20kg respectively added to the weight-based allowance on routes elsewhere.
Loyalty programme
Etihad Guest runs five tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Emerald. Tier Miles are counted over a rolling 12-month period when you are working up to a new tier, while renewals are measured over the fixed 12 months ending on your tier expiry date. Emerald sits outside that structure as an invitation-only tier.
From 18 March 2026 to 31 March 2027 the airline cut the thresholds for reaching a tier by 25%, so Silver now needs 18,750 Tier Miles, Gold 37,500 and Platinum 93,750, against standard levels of 25,000, 50,000 and 125,000. The reduction applies automatically with no registration required, and Emerald is not included.
Those figures are for earning status rather than keeping it. Renewal thresholds are lower again, at 20,000, 40,000 and 100,000 Tier Miles.
Benefits are grouped as Core, Custom and Beyond. Custom choices begin at Silver, with two selections there rising to five at Platinum, while Beyond rewards are milestone perks reserved for Gold and Platinum members who fly well past their tier threshold.
How to contact Etihad or manage a booking
Existing bookings, seat selection, meal requests and flight status are all handled through the Manage Booking section of the Etihad website or app using a booking reference and last name.
Etihad’s contact centres are region-specific rather than one global number, so travellers calling from outside the UAE should use the number listed for their own country on the airline’s official contact page rather than a generic UAE line.
Etihad Guest members can also manage most changes, including using miles or upgrading with Etihad Guest Miles, directly from their loyalty account without calling in.
