Etihad Airways now gives free medical travel insurance to international visitors flying to Abu Dhabi, covering up to 15 days in the UAE.
The cover is automatic on qualifying tickets, runs July to December 2026, and needs no separate application.
What’s Covered
Etihad has partnered with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT) to bundle complimentary medical travel insurance into eligible tickets.

- Underwriter: The National Insurance Company – Daman, part of PureHealth
- Cost to you: Nothing — it’s included with the ticket

Who Qualifies
The cover is automatic for international visitors flying to or through Abu Dhabi on Etihad-operated flights — provided both the point of origin and the point of sale are outside the UAE.
- Both your departure point and where you bought the ticket must be outside the UAE
- Transit passengers flying through Abu Dhabi are included
- Guests on Etihad’s complimentary Stopover Programme are covered for the duration of their stay
Tickets bought inside the UAE, or journeys starting in the UAE, do not qualify.
How to Get Covered
There’s nothing to apply for. If your ticket qualifies, the cover is added automatically — no forms, no extra payment, no opt-in.
