Etihad Airways’ very first flight to Tashkent was completely sold out, as the airline’s new daily direct flight between Abu Dhabi and Uzbekistan’s capital took off on August 10, 2026.
This is Etihad’s first-ever flight to Uzbekistan, and its newest link to Central Asia. It also kicks off a new partnership with Uzbekistan Airways, so you can book onward flights to eight more Uzbek cities on the same ticket from Abu Dhabi.

Etihad and Uzbekistan Airways are also working on linking up their loyalty programmes, Etihad Guest and UzAirPlus, so members can eventually earn and use points across both airlines, but that hasn’t launched yet.

If you hold a UAE passport, or valid UAE residency, you can enter Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days. This is confirmed by an agreement between the two countries, verified by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UAE and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
