For the next six months until March of next year, Expo 2020 Dubai is predicted to welcome some 25 million visitors from around the world. As the site of the world fair is quite extensive, you may need to plan ahead to make sure you’re heading to the appropriate district where your pavilion or event of choice is located.   

Organizers of the event have set up numerous facilities for visitors to reach the expo site hassle-free. But in the event you’re planning on getting to the world fair by car, here is some essential and practical information you must know about parking situation at Expo 2020.

Parking is free of charge

Parking at Expo 2020 is provided free of charge. Dedicated parking zones surround the site and correspond to specific colors assigned to each thematic district as follows:

  • Orange – Opportunity parking
  • Green – Sustainability parking
  • Blue – Mobility parking

Parking is available:

Saturday to Wednesday: 8.30 PM to 11 PM
Thursdays and Fridays: 8.30 PM to 1 AM the following day. 

 

Designated parking zones

As mentioned, each of the thematic districts is assigned a color-coded parking zone at Expo 2020. Naturally, you’d want to select your parking location on the thematic district you wish to visit and access the appropriate gate. 

Opportunity District parking zone

The Opportunity District parking zone is marked orange and is accessible from the E77 Expo Road. The lots are ranged from A to F.

Sustainability District parking zone

The Sustainability District parking zone is marked green and is accessible from the E77 Expo Road or D54 Zayed bin Hamdan al Nahyan. The lots are ranged from A to H.

Mobility District parking zone

The Mobility District parking zone is marked blue and is accessible from the E311 Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. The lots are ranged from A to N. 

Dubai Exhibition Center parking

There is an additional designated parking zone at the DEC which is accessible from the E311 Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

 

Car park types

Once you’ve arrived at your parking zone of choice, you will see signs further directing you to specific sections depending on your Expo ticket type. The types of parking are as follows:

Premium parking 

Premium Parking is not open to the public and is reserved for official Expo-invited guests

Valet parking 

Available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Priced at AED 95 per visit and covers the entire day. If your ticket comes with valet parking vouchers, you can use that instead of paying

People of determination parking

A valid people of determination parking permit from the UAE is required for access. Overseas visitors can apply for a temporary parking permit from the Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) at Umm Ramool or Al Manarah centres with their passport, visa, personal photo and proof of Dubai address or either show a parking permit from the home country or evidence of disability.

POD areas can be found in the three district zones: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability Parking.

Nissan parking

Nissan is an official partner of Expo 2020 Dubai. As such, visitors driving a Nissan vehicle may park in this reserved area. In the Mobility parking zone, the lot can be found in the H block, whereas in the Sustainability zone, Nissan drivers can head to the G block.

Media parking 

Media personnel get to park closer to the gate in the E block of the Sustainability parking zone. To access this lot, make sure you have your accredited pass on you.

Jubilee experience parking 

Those who are Jubilee Experience ticket holders can park in this dedicated section at the Sustainability parking zone, marked in black.

Public parking 

The remaining letter blocks are all open to the general public.

Visitor parking rules

Finally, please abide by the following rules when visiting Expo 2020.

  • Drivers are required to park their vehicles correctly in the spaces
  • Parking on any roads or pedestrian walkways is forbidden, as is parking where a No Parking sign is visible
  • Pedestrians must follow traffic rules and use pedestrian walkways and crosswalks. Any pedestrian on a road or crossing a road has priority
  • The parking lot is under video surveillance, operated by Expo 2020 Dubai
  • Vehicle owners are responsible for any damage caused to their and third-party vehicles and Expo property when committing traffic or parking violations
  • Local authorities will impose any relevant penalties and/or fines for violations
