Two routes worth flagging: on these dates Wego returned no single all-flydubai return itinerary to Mumbai or Cairo, so they are left off the table above. flydubai does fly both non-stop from Dubai. It operates five weekly flights to Mumbai and ten weekly flights to Cairo, though its Cairo service lands at Sphinx International (SPX) in Giza rather than Cairo International (CAI), so an airport-specific search can miss it.

Fleet and aircraft
flydubai flies only Boeing 737s, split across three variants: the Next-Generation 737-800, the 737 MAX 8 and the 737 MAX 9.
Its own fleet page puts the total at 97 aircraft, made up of 26 737-800s, 68 MAX 8s and 3 MAX 9s, with the carrier weighting new deliveries toward the larger MAX 9 to add Business Class capacity on its busier routes.
flydubai and Emirates are both owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai and share a hub and a codeshare agreement, but flydubai runs its own single-aisle fleet, management and operating certificate.
It has no widebody or Airbus aircraft in service today, though it has 30 Boeing 787-9s on order and, since November 2025, a first-ever Airbus order for up to 150 A321neo-family jets.
Hubs, network and route map
Every flydubai flight routes through Dubai. Most flights operate from Terminal 2 at DXB, the airline’s long-standing base, though a number of routes, including its Budapest service, use Terminal 3 for easier connections with Emirates.
From there the network reaches more than 120 destinations in 58 countries across Central Asia and the Caucasus, Central and South-East Europe, the Middle East, East Africa and South and Southeast Asia, a mix that leans into secondary cities and routes the larger Gulf carriers do not serve directly, such as Aleppo and Benghazi.
At Riyadh, flydubai has operated from Terminal 5 of King Khalid International (RUH) rather than Terminal 3 since 25 February 2026.
The airline has been adding both new points, like Aleppo, Benghazi and Bangkok this year, and frequency on existing ones, like Naples and Milan Bergamo, rather than growing only through new city launches.
Cabins and onboard product
flydubai operates a two-class layout on most of its network: Economy and Business.
Business Class seating varies by aircraft, with flydubai’s MAX jets fitted with either a reclining seat or a fully flat bed, and the retrofitted Next-Generation 737-800s carrying the airline’s flagship lie-flat seat. flydubai has retrofitted 25 of its 26 737-800s since 2024 to bring the older jets in line with the newer ones.
Economy is sold in three fare bundles, Lite, Value and Flex, all using the same cabin: checked baggage and change rights step up as you move from Lite to Flex. Lite cannot be changed or cancelled at all, Value charges a fee for both, and Flex is free on both, though flydubai issues cancellation refunds as a flydubai voucher rather than cash.
Baggage allowance and check-in
Hand baggage is included on every fare: up to 7kg in Economy and 14kg in Business. Checked baggage depends on the fare bundle you book.
Economy Lite carries no checked allowance at all, Value includes 20kg, and Flex includes 30kg, while Business Class carries 40kg as standard, according to flydubai’s own baggage policy.
Those allowances are weight-based and split across up to three bags, each under 32kg. On itineraries that include a partner airline, a piece-based allowance can apply instead, and your ticket will say which.
If you are booking the cheapest Lite fare and expect to check a bag, budget for it separately or step up to Value at booking rather than paying the airport rate. An oversize or overweight cabin bag caught at the gate costs AED 200 (USD 55) per item.
On check-in, flydubai opens online check-in 48 hours before departure and closes it 75 minutes out. At the airport, desks open 3 hours before departure and close 60 minutes before, self-service kiosks run from 4 hours to 75 minutes before, boarding starts 45 minutes before departure and the gate closes 25 minutes before.
Loyalty programme and the Emirates codeshare
flydubai does not run a separate frequent flyer scheme of its own. Passengers earn and redeem through Emirates Skywards, the loyalty programme it shares with Emirates, reflecting how closely the two carriers’ networks are stitched together through their codeshare even though they operate as distinct airlines under the same Dubai government owner.
How to contact flydubai or manage a booking
Changes, refunds, seat selection and add-ons for an existing booking are handled through the “Manage booking” section of flydubai.com using the booking reference and last name on the ticket. Bookings made through a travel agent have to be rebooked or refunded through that agent rather than by flydubai directly.
For anything the website cannot resolve, flydubai lists its Contact Centre on (+971) 600 54 44 45, an online enquiry form and its Travel Shops on the official help pages. Its social media accounts handle general queries but should not be used for anything involving personal or payment details.
flydubai has said it will introduce Starlink high-speed connectivity across its fleet, without yet naming a start date.
