flynas to Launch Direct Jeddah–Aleppo Flights Twice Weekly From September 2

flynas will begin direct flights between Jeddah and Aleppo from September 2, 2026, operating twice a week, the Saudi low-cost carrier announced on X on August 11, 2026. The airline said the new route is meant “to strengthen air connectivity between the Kingdom and Syria.”

flynas has since listed the route for booking on its own website, confirming two weekly flights between Jeddah and Aleppo. This makes Aleppo the second Syrian city flynas serves from Jeddah, alongside its existing Damascus flights.

What’s changing on September 2

The Jeddah–Aleppo service adds to a Saudi–Syria network that flynas has been rebuilding since June 2025, when it became the first Saudi carrier to resume flights to Damascus after a 12-year hiatus. flynas already flies to Aleppo from Riyadh.

That Riyadh–Aleppo route launched on August 1, 2026, also with two flights a week. The Jeddah link follows the same twice-weekly pattern a month later.

Before the new Jeddah service, flynas’ Saudi–Syria network already included:

• Riyadh–Damascus: 14 weekly flights, including twice-daily direct service
• Jeddah–Damascus: 7 weekly flights
• Dammam–Damascus: 3 direct weekly flights launched from October 3, 2025
• Riyadh–Aleppo: twice-weekly, launched August 1, 2026

flynas has confirmed the new Jeddah–Aleppo service will run twice weekly, but as of this writing it hasn’t published which two days it operates or specific departure and arrival times.

For comparison, the existing Riyadh–Aleppo route flies as XY229 (Riyadh 11:55, arriving Aleppo 14:25 on Mondays and Thursdays; 12:00–14:30 on Saturdays) with the return as XY230 (Aleppo 15:30, arriving Riyadh 18:10 on Thursdays and Saturdays) — a different route, so times won’t carry over directly to the Jeddah service.

Wego fare snapshot for Jeddah–Aleppo

A Wego search for Jeddah to Aleppo on September 5, 2026 — a few days after the new route starts — returned flynas fares from around $141 (roughly SAR 529) per person one way, as of August 12, 2026.

Those results currently route through Riyadh rather than nonstop, since Wego’s fare data for the new direct September 2 service had not yet fully loaded at the time of this search.

Separately, flynas’ own booking page for the route lists one-way economy fares starting from SAR 429, which will reflect the nonstop flight once it goes live. Fares fluctuate by date and demand, so treat both figures as indicative rather than fixed.

flynas isn’t the only carrier serving this route today. A same-day Wego search found three other airlines currently connecting Jeddah to Aleppo, each through a different hub, all pricier than flynas’ Riyadh-routed fare:

All four options currently connect rather than fly nonstop, since none of the carriers’ fare data yet reflects flynas’ new direct September 2 service. flynas’ Riyadh routing is the cheapest of the four by a wide margin, and also the shortest connection of the group at just over six hours total.

What travellers should know before booking

Aleppo and Damascus are more accessible by air than at any point since the Syrian civil war began, but that doesn’t mean travel to Syria is risk-free. Most Western governments, including the United States, continue to maintain “Do Not Travel” advisories for the country, citing terrorism and residual conflict risk.

Anyone booking on this new route should check their own government’s latest travel advisory before flying, and confirm visa and entry requirements with Syrian authorities directly, since rules have been changing as the country reopens.
