Gulf Air Bahrain Flights: Current Status
Bahrain’s airspace and airport are open, and Gulf Air is operating across its whole map from its hub: the Gulf, Saudi Arabia, the Indian subcontinent, Europe, Africa and East Asia.
The routes disrupted earlier in the crisis are running again. Kuwait is back in the schedule, and Dammam is a normal scheduled destination with several flights a day rather than a fallback base.

What Gulf Air Owes You If Your Flight Changes
There is no crisis waiver on the Gulf Air website at the moment, so do not book expecting free changes on that basis. What does apply is the published schedule-change policy, and it is more generous than most people realise.
It is triggered when Gulf Air moves your departure more than two hours later than booked, or when a change makes you miss a connection on the same ticket.
- Free rebooking: onto another Gulf Air flight up to 14 days either side of your original date, subject to seats in your cabin. If nothing suits, Gulf Air may rebook you onto a codeshare partner.
- Full refund: if rebooking does not work for you, even on a non-refundable ticket. Some government taxes may not be refundable.
- The limits: an origin or destination change is only allowed within the country of the original booking, and charter and group bookings run on different terms.
If your connection sits on a separate ticket, none of this protects it.

Should You Book Gulf Air to Bahrain Right Now?
Operationally, yes: the airline is flying a full schedule and the airport is open. The judgement call is about the wider region, and governments do not agree on it.
- United Kingdom: the FCDO stopped advising against all but essential travel on 20 August 2026, while still warning of possible cancellations.
