Hajj 2026 went ahead as scheduled. The Saudi Supreme Court confirmed 18 May 2026 as the 1st of Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH, which set the Day of Arafah on 26 May and Eid al-Adha on 27 May. The core rites ran from 25 to 30 May 2026.
The international pilgrim airlift finished on 21 May 2026. Madinah and Jeddah received pilgrims from Pakistan, Indonesia, India, Egypt and Malaysia across a five-week arrival window.

The pilgrimage season that is open now
Umrah reopened as soon as Hajj 1447 AH closed. Saudi Arabia began issuing 1448 AH Umrah visas on 31 May 2026, and pilgrims have been able to enter Makkah and obtain Nusuk permits since 1 June 2026. The season runs until 7 April 2027, with the last visa issued on 9 March 2027 and the last entry on 23 March 2027.
