Hajj is the most anticipated event for Muslims worldwide. Following success in the Hajj pilgrimage in 2024, Saudi Arabia is now preparing to once again welcome pilgrims from all over the world to perform the Hajj, including those from India.

Hajj 2025 from India news – latest updates

The recent news of the death of 98 Indian pilgrims due to heatwaves in Saudi Arabia has raised concerns. The Saudi National Meteorological Centre has confirmed that 2025 will be the last summer Hajj for now. Subsequent iterations of the Hajj, starting after 2025, will be impacted by climate change, with conditions expected to remain consistent for the next 17 years.

Hajj 2025 from India dates

The Hajj season for 2025 is expected to begin on 04 June and conclude on 09 June. Specific dates for application openings or other related details have not been announced yet.

Hajj 2024 guidelines from India

Here are the official guidelines for the requirements and rules during the Hajj 2024 season:

Age limit & testing requirements

Anyone who is 12 years old and above can go on Hajj provided that they obtain the basic doses of vaccines approved in the Kingdom, and they must present a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to their arrival to the Kingdom.

Vaccination requirements

According to the Ministry of Health’s document addressing the health requirements for the Hajj 2024 pilgrimage, the following vaccinations have been made mandatory.

  • COVID-19 vaccine
  • influenza
  • meningitis
  • polio

Registration in the Sehaty app is mandatory to confirm necessary vaccinations. Vaccination should be completed at least 10 days prior to the Hajj season but not more than five years prior to their arrival, and it will be considered a pre-requisite for obtaining a Hajj permit. Worshippers are no longer required to obtain an appointment to pray at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. However, they will still need to obtain a Hajj permit through the online app Absher.

Hajj 2024 application from India

Any Muslim in India who is mentally and physically fit and is under 60 years of age can complete the entire process of applying for Hajj online through the Haj Committee of India (HCOI) website at The “Haj Mobile App” and Internet applications are both available to the public. Furthermore, there is no offline application process for the Haj Yatra.

To complete the online application for Hajj 2024 from India, pilgrims must meet certain prerequisites. A computer or smartphone with a reliable internet connection is necessary for those who wish to apply. Additionally, they should have a functioning phone number and an active email address. The following are the steps for registering for Hajj 2024 from India:

Required documents

Before applying, pilgrims must be prepared with scanned copies of the following items.

  • a valid passport extending until the end of Dzul Hijjah 1445 or 7 June 2024
  • recently taken passport-size photo
  • passport copy (first & last page)
  • address proof
  • cancelled cheque
  • vaccine certificate


  • go to the official website of the Hajj Committee of India
  • click on “Hajj 2024” and select “Pilgrim login”
  • click on “Register”
  • fill out the registration form carefully, providing your:
    • first and last name
    • mobile number
    • email ID
    • select state & district
    • enter security code
    • strong password
  • confirm the password and enter the security code
  • check the box if the information is correct
  • click on “submit”
  • you will receive an OTP on your mobile number
  • enter the OTP to activate your account by clicking the “Submit” button
  • a confirmation message will appear on the screen upon successful submission of OTP.

Fill out the Hajj application form

After signing in, a particular screen will appear.

  • click on the appropriate application category
  • select the number of adults and infants from drop-down menu
  • click the “Next” button
  • fill in the applicant’s details (as per Indian International Passport), personal details, present residential address, nominee details, bank account details etc
  • the fields marked with * are compulsory.
  • after entering all the details, click on the declaration and then on the “Next” button

Upload your photo and required documents

  • step 3 for uploading images will appear on the screen
  • now select the pilgrims from the drop-down
  • click on “Browse” to upload your photo & documents
  • all documents should be in JPG/JPEG format only
  • photograph (passport size) should be between 10kb to 100kb & width between 100pixel to 148pixel
  • document size should be between 100kb to 500kb & width between 570pixel to 795pixel
  • after uploading the photos and documents, click the ‘Final Submit’ button

Print your HAF (Hajj Application Form)

  • once you have uploaded the photographs and documents for all applicants, proceed to click the final submit button located at the bottom of the page.
  • a group ID, generated by a unique system, will be presented on the dashboard upon clicking ‘Final Submit,’ signifying the successful completion of the online submission.
  • navigate to the View All Application Tab and review all the information provided by you.
  • to retain a copy of your completed online application, download it by clicking on the “PDF Download HAF2024” button.

Hajj packages from India 2024

To book your Hajj packages, you can easily do so through the Hajj Committee of India — the steps are mentioned above. You can also book your Hajj packages through the MoMA (Ministry of Minority Affairs) India-authorized private travel agents for Hajj.

According to the HCI (Hajj Committee of India), the price for the Hajj package is increased to INR 399,500. Meanwhile, if you book your Hajj packages through private tour operators, they will charge around INR 600 or more than the government Hajj package price.

Hajj from India 2024 cost

Please note that the following are tentative prices as per the official notice from the Haj Committee of India, and the prices may increase or decrease based on the expenses incurred.

In 2024, those registering for the Hajj through the government’s HCI had to pay a maximum of INR 411,600 for the embarkation point of Gaya. The prices depend on embarkation points. Below are the prices for five major cities in India:

  • New Delhi: INR 3,30,100 (Advance amount and second installment – INR 2,51,800 and balance amount to be paid – INR 78,300)
  • Hyderabad: INR 3,34,700 (Advance amount and second installment – INR 2,51,800 and balance amount to be paid – INR 82,900)
  • Mumbai: INR 3,21,150 (Advance amount and second installment – INR 2,51,800 and balance amount to be paid – INR 69,350)
  • Bengaluru: INR 3,43,500 (Advance amount and second installment – INR 2,51,800 and balance amount to be paid – INR 91,700)
  • Chennai: INR 3,44,950 (Advance amount and second installment – INR 2,51,800 and balance amount to be paid – INR 93,150)

According to the official circular provided by the Haj Committee of India, pilgrims are expected to pay the balance amount for their respective embarkation points on or before 27 April 2024. Moreover, a different price chart for infants is available on the Haj Committee of India website.
