Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) passport holders can now enjoy visa-on-arrival access to Saudi Arabia, marking a significant enhancement in travel convenience between the two regions, Wego reports.

According to an official press release from the Hong Kong government, the new arrangement allows HKSAR passport holders to obtain either a single-entry visa valid for 30 days or a multiple-entry visa for stays of up to 90 days. The Royal Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Hong Kong also confirmed that travelers may opt to apply for a Saudi e-visa through the official portal at visa.visitsaudi.com.

In a reciprocal move, Saudi nationals visiting Hong Kong will enjoy an extended visa-free stay of 90 days, effective 15 January 2025. These measures aim to strengthen cultural, economic, and tourism ties under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Currently, HKSAR passport holders have visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 172 destinations, including all six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. Travelers are encouraged to consult the Royal Consulate General of Saudi Arabia or the Hong Kong Immigration Department for further details.
