IndiGo’s Abu Dhabi network is its widest in the UAE. Wego’s schedule data shows nonstops from fifteen Indian cities, four more than it serves to Dubai, including south Indian routes that no other Indian low-cost carrier flies to Zayed International. Renewed Gulf strikes this week have caused delays, so confirm your flight number before travelling.

Where IndiGo flies to Abu Dhabi from
Abu Dhabi is the breadth route. Most cities have a daily nonstop, and a group of southern airports runs a few times a week, which matters when you are choosing dates.
| From | Nonstops to Abu Dhabi |
|---|---|
| Mumbai (BOM) | Up to three a day |
| Hyderabad, Kochi | Up to twice a day |
| Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai | Daily |
| Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Kannur | Daily |
| Ahmedabad, Lucknow | Daily |
| Coimbatore (CJB) | Four a week |
| Chandigarh, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli | Three a week |
Tiruchirappalli came back on 17 August 2026 after a long absence, and Kannur, Madurai and Coimbatore give southern Tamil Nadu and Kerala a direct link to Abu Dhabi that Dubai does not have from those cities on IndiGo.
The less-than-daily routes are the ones to watch. If your Chandigarh, Madurai or Tiruchirappalli flight is cancelled, the next IndiGo service on that route may be two days away, not two hours.
How long the flight takes
Delhi to Abu Dhabi is timed at three hours fifty-five minutes on the 21:00 departure, and that block time already reflects the routings IndiGo is flying today. Flights keep clear of the highest-risk parts of the Gulf, which adds track miles without changing the shape of the journey.
Delay is the live risk rather than duration. Iran struck US-linked targets in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan on 2 September, and Zayed International has run behind schedule since, with Etihad the worst affected carrier on 3 September. Fewer flights were disrupted on Thursday than Wednesday, but retimings are still happening at short notice.
If IndiGo cancels your Abu Dhabi flight
IndiGo’s earlier blanket Middle East waiver has expired and has not been replaced. Your position now depends on who cancelled.
- IndiGo cancels: the next available IndiGo flight at no extra cost, or a full refund. Use Manage Booking on goindigo.in or the app.
- You cancel: standard charges apply, with case-by-case waivers sometimes granted during disruption.
- You booked through a platform: raise it with that seller too, since refunds are handled differently from direct bookings.
- Consider Dubai as the workaround. IndiGo runs a denser Dubai schedule from the metros, and Dubai is about ninety minutes by road from Abu Dhabi. On a thin Abu Dhabi route, a Dubai flight plus a taxi may get you there a day sooner.
IndiGo does not interline with Etihad, so it cannot move you onto an Etihad service. That would be a separate ticket at your own cost.
Is it safe to fly IndiGo to Abu Dhabi?
Zayed International is open and handling flights, and UAE airspace has been fully open since 2 May 2026. Drones launched at a UAE airbase on 31 August were intercepted with no reported damage, and the UAE has not restricted domestic travel. Government advice has eased over the summer and now differs by nationality.
- United Kingdom: the Foreign Office no longer advises against travel to the UAE, having dropped that advice on 18 June 2026.
- Australia: reconsider your need to travel, down from do not travel since 17 June 2026, and it covers transits.
- United States: Level 3, Reconsider Travel. The embassy in Abu Dhabi issued a security alert on 1 September 2026.
- Canada: avoid non-essential travel, updated 1 September 2026.
Check that any insurance you buy covers conflict-related disruption. A lot of standard cover excludes it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is IndiGo flying to Abu Dhabi right now?
Yes, on a published schedule covering fifteen Indian cities. Most are daily, and Mumbai has up to three flights a day.
Which Abu Dhabi routes are not daily?
Coimbatore runs four times a week, and Chandigarh, Madurai and Tiruchirappalli three times a week. On those routes a cancellation can cost you a couple of days rather than a few hours.
Does IndiGo fly more to Abu Dhabi or to Dubai?
Abu Dhabi reaches more Indian cities, fifteen against eleven, while Dubai has higher frequency on the metro routes. Pick Abu Dhabi for a smaller home airport and Dubai for more departures a day.
Will IndiGo rebook me onto Etihad or Air India?
No. IndiGo has no interline arrangement for that. It will offer its own next available flight or a refund, and any other airline would be a separate booking.
Can I fly into Dubai and travel on to Abu Dhabi?
Yes. Dubai is roughly ninety minutes away by road in normal traffic, and IndiGo’s Dubai schedule is denser from the metro cities. It is a practical alternative when an Abu Dhabi route is thin.
Flying into Dubai instead? See our companion guide to IndiGo’s Dubai flights, which covers the higher-frequency metro routes.
