Recent Route Highlights

Two routes stand out in 2026 as examples of IndiGo’s network ambition.

Chennai–Réunion Island launched on 29 April 2026, making Réunion IndiGo’s 46th international destination and the only direct India–Réunion connection currently operating. It runs three times weekly (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) on an A320.

On the Delhi–Istanbul sector, IndiGo deployed the Airbus A321XLR from 19 April 2026, replacing its earlier one-stop routing with a true non-stop service. The aircraft cuts nearly two hours from the journey and carries 183 economy and 12 IndiGoStretch seats, with hot meals served to all passengers.

IndiGo International Flights Baggage Allowance

IndiGo’s international checked baggage allowance varies by route — it is not a flat figure for all destinations. The amounts below are for standard (Saver) economy fares; upgrading to Flexi or Stretch adds more.

The maximum weight per individual bag is 32 kg regardless of route. You are allowed up to 2 pieces of checked baggage, subject to the overall weight limit for your route.

On IndiGoStretch seats, the checked baggage allowance increases significantly — up to 40 kg total on most international sectors. Always confirm your exact allowance in the booking confirmation, since the figure is printed there and is route-specific.

If you need more than your included allowance, pre-booking excess baggage online is considerably cheaper than paying at the airport. Options are available in blocks of 5 kg, 10 kg, 15 kg, and 30 kg. Cabin Baggage

IndiGo allows one cabin bag (up to 7 kg, max 115 cm in combined dimensions) and one personal item such as a laptop bag or small handbag (up to 3 kg) for all passengers — domestic and international alike. The combined cabin allowance is 10 kg.

The partnership deepened significantly when IndiGo launched non-stop Delhi–Istanbul service on the A321XLR in April 2026. The morning departure from Delhi is timed for same-day European connections at Istanbul.
