Lite is IndiGo’s lowest-priced cabin-baggage-only Economy fare for adults and children on eligible direct domestic and international flights. It became bookable on 1 July 2026, for travel from 15 July 2026.
It includes a free auto-assigned seat; seat choice, meals and checked baggage are chargeable extras, subject to availability.

Cabin baggage
The IndiGo Lite baggage allowance is one cabin bag per customer, weighing up to 7 kg and measuring up to 55 x 35 x 25 cm (115 cm total linear dimensions). IndiGo recommends stowing it under the seat in front.
- IndiGo’s general policy also permits one personal article, such as a purse or small laptop bag, up to 3 kg, but the Lite page lists only one cabin bag; confirm with IndiGo whether this applies to your booking.
- A cabin bag exceeding the weight or size limit can attract the checked-baggage charge at the airport.
Checked baggage and current Lite fees
Lite includes no free checked baggage. As of 23 July 2026, IndiGo lists the following Lite checked-bag options:
- Domestic: INR 1,500 for one checked bag up to 15 kg, whether purchased before travel or at the airport.
- International: INR 3,000 before travel or at the airport, for a 20 kg allowance across up to two pieces (15 kg, one piece, for Jaffna).
Excess-baggage charges apply above the purchased allowance; confirm the current fee for your route before paying, as prices can change.
Seats, meals and other add-ons
IndiGo auto-assigns a seat free of charge; a preferred standard seat costs extra, and UpFront seats are unavailable with Lite. Meals aren’t complimentary but can be pre-booked or bought on board, subject to availability.

Where can you book Lite, and who is eligible?
IndiGo sells Lite via its website, app, contact centre and 6Eskai on WhatsApp and the web, for direct, non-stop domestic and international one-way or round-trip IndiGo-operated flights.
Lite is unavailable for:
- Connecting flights and code-share bookings
- Group and corporate bookings
- Unaccompanied minors and infants
- Special fare categories such as senior citizen, student and armed forces fares
After booking, Lite cannot be upgraded via IndiGo’s website, app or 6Eskai to Saver, Flexi Plus, UpFront, Stretch or Stretch+. An upgrade to UpFront or Stretch may still be purchased at the airport or on board, subject to availability and fare differences, though the Lite baggage allowance still applies.
Changes and cancellations on IndiGo Lite
Lite bookings can be changed or cancelled under IndiGo’s standard rules, with charges applying per passenger and per sector, plus any fare difference on a change.
For domestic Lite bookings charged in INR, quoted from at least three hours before departure:
- Change fee: INR 2,999
- Cancellation fee: INR 4,999 (three to 72 hours before departure) or INR 3,999 (72+ hours before departure)
- Bookings made in other currencies use IndiGo’s applicable USD Lite rates
International Lite fees vary by destination zone and timing, quoted from four hours before departure with separate change and cancellation bands; check the current quote for your route.
IndiGo also offers a 48-hour “Look-in” option for direct-website bookings, waiving change or cancellation fees (fare difference still applies) except when departure is within seven days for a domestic flight or 15 days for an international flight.
