Do IndiGo’s new fees apply to international flights?
No. All five changes, including the costlier Fast Forward priority boarding, apply to domestic IndiGo flights only. International fees, already higher, follow a separate schedule that did not change on 17 September.
When did IndiGo’s new fees take effect?
The revised charges took effect on 17 September 2026, immediately and without a grace period, according to IndiGo’s own published tariff.
Did IndiGo also raise its base ticket prices?
No. Only the optional and passenger-service charges went up. Base domestic fares are unaffected by this revision.
How much extra will a checked bag cost now?
Domestic excess baggage rose from ₹700 to ₹800 a kilogram, so 5kg over your free allowance now costs ₹4,000 instead of ₹3,500.
Can I avoid the new domestic infant fee?
No. The ₹3,000 domestic infant fee applies to every infant travelling on an accompanying adult’s lap, with one infant permitted per adult.
