Doha will host its first-ever IRONMAN race from 18 to 20 March 2027, with the inaugural Visit Qatar IRONMAN 70.3 Doha set to take over Old Doha Port.

It is the first IRONMAN-branded event ever held in Doha, designed as an early-season race that opens athletes’ campaigns for the spring and summer.

A junior IRONKIDS race takes place on 19 March.

This is the first IRONMAN event in Doha, Qatar, staged at Old Doha Port on the city’s waterfront.

There will be fan zones, the interactive IRONMAN Village, and community and entertainment experiences across the weekend.

The race format: distances and what to expect

An IRONMAN 70.3 covers 70.3 miles (113 km) in total, split across three back-to-back legs. The “70.3” refers to the combined distance in miles.

The three legs are:

Swim: 1.2 miles (1.9 km).
Bike: 56 miles (90 km).
Run: 13.1 miles (21.1 km).
