Current Airport Status
DXB is open and operating as of 7 September 2026. Published timetables include Dubai–Doha services, but individual flights can still change at short notice.
The current picture, in brief:
- UAE airspace is open to commercial flights. EASA now distinguishes Gulf-water overflights from airport arrivals and departures and operations over land.
- Emirates says its Dubai flights have not fully resumed. Check your email and flight status before travelling.
- flydubai is operating a reduced schedule, and some journeys may take longer because flights are being rerouted.
- Several foreign airlines have suspended Dubai services, while Qatar Airways and other carriers continue to schedule flights.
EASA Conflict Zone Advisory
EASA’s revised bulletin, valid until 30 September 2026 unless reviewed earlier, advises against overflight of Persian Gulf waters, with exceptions needed for airport arrivals and departures; caution and current risk assessments remain required over land.
The bulletin also advises against flights over Gulf of Oman waters west of 58°E. It applies to EASA operators and third-country operators flying under their EU authorisation.

DXB welcomed a record 95.2 million passengers in 2025. It remains the main hub for Emirates and flydubai.
Terminal Information
Check your terminal in your booking or airline app before travelling. Your departure terminal can change during disruption.
Terminal 1 (Concourse D)
Terminal 1 serves more than 50 international carriers. An airport train connects the terminal with D Gates.
Airlines using Terminal 1 include Qatar Airways and Air India. British Airways and Lufthansa use it when their Dubai flights operate.
Terminal 2
Terminal 2 handles regional, international and charter flights. Many flydubai services use it, but some flydubai flights use Terminal 3.
Terminal 2 is separate from Terminals 1 and 3 and does not have a metro station. Ask your airline or airport staff about transfers between terminals.
Terminal 3 (Concourses A, B, and C)
Terminal 3 mainly serves Emirates. Some flydubai, United and Air Canada flights also use its A, B and C gate areas.
Sleepover lounges offer pods and cabins in A, B and C Gates. Terminal 3 also has a Dubai Metro Red Line station.

Dubai Passenger Rights (New in 2026)
Dubai’s 2026 airport conditions set minimum support standards during disruption. Your airline remains responsible for helping you with rebooking, cancellations and refund requests.
- For a cancellation before check-in, the airline must notify passengers within one hour of deciding to cancel.
- During a delay, the airline must provide an update every hour.
- After more than three hours of disruption, the airline must provide free meals and refreshments.
- After more than eight hours, or when an overnight stay is needed, the airline must provide a hotel and transport.
- Airlines must give passengers clear complaint procedures and a 24-hour contact for rebooking.

Getting To and From the Airport
Metro
The Dubai Metro Red Line serves Terminals 1 and 3. Terminal 2 has no metro station.
Regular hours are 5am to midnight from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday. Friday service runs until 1am, and Sunday service starts at 8am.
Hours can change on public holidays. Check the RTA website or S’hail app before travelling.
Taxi and Ride-Hailing
Dubai Taxi Company taxis operate 24 hours from designated ranks at each terminal. App-based rides also use marked pick-up areas.
Fares and journey times depend on traffic and your destination. Follow airport signs to the official taxi rank or your booked pick-up point.
Bus
RTA buses serve DXB. Routes and times can change, so plan your trip in the RTA S’hail app before leaving the airport.
Car Rental and Parking
Car rental desks and paid parking are available at DXB. Check the Dubai Airports transport page for current locations and parking charges.
Overland Alternatives
Do not assume a land crossing is a simple replacement for a cancelled flight. Entry rules and transport options vary, so check with the relevant border authority before travelling.
Transit and Layover Information
If your bags are checked through and you remain in the transit area, follow airport signs to your next gate. Ask your airline before departure whether you must collect bags or change terminals.
If you need to pass immigration, check the entry rules for your nationality. Travellers who are not visa-exempt may need a visa before leaving the airport.
The UAE offers 48-hour and 96-hour transit visas. These are sponsored by UAE-based airlines and must be approved before entry.
