Flying Wizz Air, Pegasus, Akasa Air or Fly Jinnah out of Jeddah? Your flight may now leave from a different building.
King Abdulaziz International Airport’s Terminal 4 has launched phased operations, increasing annual passenger capacity by 15 million.
The first phase began on September 27, transferring flights from Wizz Air, AJet, and SalamAir to Terminal 4, with additional carriers to follow, according to Jeddah Airports Company’s announcement, also carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
What This Means for You
If you are flying out of Jeddah Airport, you should confirm your departure terminal with your airline before traveling.
- Some airline pages are out of date: Pegasus’s Jeddah terminal page, last changed in 2023, still says North Terminal. Trust a recent booking email or the airport over an old web page.
- Arrivals move too: SalamAir, for example, says all its Jeddah flights now use Terminal 4, according to its airport information page. If you are picking someone up, check their terminal before you drive to the airport.
- Check again close to departure: the announced moves run until October 3 and more airlines will follow, so a terminal shown when you booked may have changed.
Terminal 4 Now Open
Terminal 4, the redeveloped former South Terminal, covers 97,000 square meters and has an annual capacity of up to 15 million passengers.
The terminal is equipped with advanced operational systems and modern facilities, including a dedicated facility for group check-in procedures for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
The operating company urged passengers to verify their departure terminal with their airline before traveling to the airport, using the carrier’s official platforms or KAIA’s official website and social media accounts.
Airline Transfer Schedule
The phased transition will continue throughout the following week:
| Date | Airlines Moving |
|---|---|
| Sept 27 | Wizz Air, AJet, SalamAir (first phase) |
| Sept 28 | Fly Jinnah (from Hajj and Umrah Terminals B3), Nesma Airlines (from North Terminal) |
| Sept 29 | Akasa Air (from Hajj and Umrah Terminals B3) |
| Oct 1 | SyrianAir, Pegasus (from North Terminal) |
| Oct 3 | Azerbaijan Airlines, Tunisair (from North Terminal) |
JEDCO said additional airlines will continue to transfer gradually in line with the approved operational plan.
Getting to and From Terminal 4
- By road: Terminal 4 has taxis, ride-hailing, shuttle buses, and short- and long-term parking, plus dedicated connections with Terminal 1, according to Economy Middle East, citing the airport’s project information.
- Haramain train to Makkah and Madinah: the airport station is inside the main terminal building, Terminal 1, and is open daily from 06:30 to 00:30, according to Haramain High Speed Railway.
- Landing at Terminal 4: plan to transfer to Terminal 1, and check train times on the Haramain website or app before you land.
Record Passenger Growth
The expansion comes as KAIA seeks to accommodate rising passenger demand. The airport handled a record 53.4 million passengers in 2025, the highest annual figure recorded by a Saudi airport, Arab News reports.
The Terminal 4 expansion supports the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Aviation Program, part of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Vision 2030, which aims to enable KAIA to handle more than 90 million passengers annually by 2030.
