Why the Suspensions Continue
EASA’s current Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman bulletin (CZIB 2026-07R2) is valid through 30 September 2026. It recommends avoiding Persian Gulf waters except for necessary airport arrivals or departures, avoiding Gulf of Oman waters west of 58°E, and caution over land in the affected flight information regions.

Outside the affected Middle East routes, KLM’s broader network continues. The airline’s summer 2026 schedule was announced for 164 destinations — 96 in Europe and 68 intercontinental. This is the planned seasonal network, not a count of destinations operating today.

KLM says it is avoiding Iran, Iraq, and several Gulf-region airspaces. Some Asia-bound and East Africa-bound flights from Amsterdam may therefore run on adjusted routings, with longer journey times and tighter connection margins at Schiphol.
