Fleet and aircraft
Kuwait Airways runs an unusually modern fleet built on five types. Airbus A320neo and A321neo narrowbodies cover regional routes across the Middle East, while A330-800 and A330-900neo widebodies handle medium and long-haul work alongside the Boeing 777-300ER on the longest sectors.
The airline was the global launch customer for the A330-800, and the in-service fleet now sits a little over 30 aircraft, with more A321neos still due from a nine-aircraft Airbus order. The A321neo and the widebody flagship both carry a flat-bed Business Class seat.
Network and destinations
Kuwait Airways flies from a single hub, Kuwait International Airport (KWI), reaching the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, Europe and Southeast Asia. The airline said its summer 2026 expansion would take the network to 54 destinations, though several of the announced routes had yet to start flying as of late July.
At the airport itself, Kuwait Airways uses Terminal 4, its own dedicated terminal since 2018. Terminal 1 has been closed since an Iranian drone strike damaged the passenger building on 3 June 2026, and several foreign carriers have been moved into Terminal 4 alongside Kuwait Airways while repairs continue.
Kuwaiti airspace also remains restricted. The flight information region is open for arrivals and departures only, with overflights still prohibited under a conflict-zone advisory running to at least 31 August 2026, and the airport is not expected back at pre-conflict capacity for several months.
Anyone routing through Kuwait should also look at hotels in Kuwait City if a stopover is on the cards, since schedule changes have made same-day connections less predictable than usual.
Cabins, baggage and check-in
Kuwait Airways sells four cabins: Royal, First, Business and Economy, with Economy split further into Zero Bag, Saver, Regular and Flexible fare types depending on route.

Cabin baggage is one piece up to 11kg in Royal, First and Business, and one piece up to 7kg in Economy, plus one additional personal item such as a handbag or a coat. Loyalty programme: Oasis Club
Kuwait Airways’ frequent flyer programme is Oasis Club, with four tiers: Oasis Blue, Oasis Silver, Oasis Gold and Oasis Platinum.
