The Ministry of Interior (MoI) Qatar website is an e-services portal of the Kingdom that makes it easier for all Qatari residents to check the status of their pending documents, such as visas and residence permits. Furthermore, the Ministry of Interior webpage also provides other services like visa extension, visa approval tracking, visa printing and more.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) website allows Qatari residents to check or track the status of their Qatar e-Visa.

MoI visa Qatar check and status inquiry
You can either use your visa number or passport number to check your status of visa application or verify the status of your Qatar e-visa. So, please prepare both or either any one document to be sure.
To check the status of your Qatar visa application through the MoI website, follow the steps given below:
- visit the MoI website
- select ‘Visa Services’
- select ‘Visa Inquiry & Printing’
- you can choose to check using your visa number or passport number
- select your nationality and input the verification code
- click on ‘Submit’, and you will be able to check the status of your visa
MoI visa Qatar status codes
These are the different status code messages that you will see when you check the status of your visa.
- Under review: your application is under process, you will have to wait for decision
- Approved: your application has been accepted
- Rejected: your application was not accepted
- In Transit: your visa is on the way to you
- Issued: your visa is issued and ready for collection
- Expired: your visa is past its expiry date
- Cancelled: your application has been cancelled
- On hold: your application needs to be reveiwed more
If your visa is deemed invalid, you may want to check the following:
- ensure that your visa has been issued
- ensure the authenticity of your visa
- ensure you did not receive duplicate visas
- ensure your travel agency properly processed your Qatar visa

You can also get a hard copy or a printout of your visa status by simply clicking on “Print” after the status of your visa has been displayed.

The MoI Qatar website can also be used to track the visa approval status of your Qatari visa or residence permit.
Qatar visit visa
To track the visa approval status of your Qatari visa for visit from the Ministry of Interior (MOI) website, follow the steps given below:
- visit the MoI website
- click “Visa Services”, and then choose “Visa Approval Tracking”
- enter your “Application Number”
- select “Visit” from the “Visa Type” column
- enter the QID of your sponsor/person in charge
- enter your “Nationality”
- enter the Captcha displayed on the screen accurately.
- click on ‘Submit’.
The screen will now display the visa approval tracking status of your Qatari visa for a visit.
Qatar residence visa
To track the visa approval status of your Qatari visa for residency from the Ministry of Interior (MOI) website, follow the steps given below:
- visit the MoI website
- click “Visa Services”, and then choose “Visa Approval Tracking”
- enter your “Application Number”.
- select “Residency” from the “Visa Type” column.
- enter either your “Application Date” or the “QID Sponsor/ Person In Charge”
- enter the Captcha displayed on the screen accurately.
- click on ‘Submit’.
The screen will now display the visa approval tracking status of your Qatari visa for residency.
MoI visa Qatar ID check
To check the validity of your unique 11-digit Qatar ID (QID) number, all you have to do is:
- visit the MoI website
- select “Other Inquiries”
- click on “Official documents”
- enter your QID or passport number
- if prompted, enter your “Nationality”
- enter the Captcha displayed on the screen accurately.
- click on ‘Submit’.
On the next page, it will display whether your QID is valid or not.
MoI visa Qatar extension
The Ministry of Interior also allows the online extension of your visa. You can use your visa number and passport number to extend your visa from the MoI e-services portal.
Arrivals to Qatar looking to extend their Qatari visa can do so from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) website by following the steps given below:
- visit the MoI website.
- click “Visa Services”, and then choose “Visit Visa Extension”
- fill in all the details, including “Visa Number”, “Passport Number”, and “Nationality”.
- enter the Captcha displayed on the screen accurately.
- click on ‘Extend’.

MoI visa Qatar expiry date
The validity and expiry date of different visas issued by the MoI vary according to their purpose and types. The validity of some of the issues issued by the Qatari government is as follows:
- Joint tourist visa– one-month and extendable for one month only
- 72-hour business visa– 72 hours
- Business visa– three months
- GCC resident visit visa– one month and extendable for three months
- Family visit visa– valid for one month and can be extended for up to six months
- Transit visa– valid for a maximum period of 96 hours
