- Cheapest nonstop business class: $629 one-way on IndiGo Stretch.
- Most expensive nonstop: $986 one-way on Emirates, which also runs the only lounge-backed product on the route.
- The cheapest ticket overall isn’t nonstop. A one-stop fare via Bahrain on Gulf Air undercuts every direct option at $554, for roughly four extra hours in the air.
- Round-trip business class swings from $323 to $612 across the next eleven months, and the swing tracks IndiGo’s seat availability more than the calendar.
- flydubai’s cabin is a coin flip. Some of its 737 MAX aircraft carry a genuine lie-flat suite, others still fly the older recliner. The seat depends on the specific aircraft assigned to your flight.
Mumbai to Dubai business class, airline by airline
Four airlines sell a nonstop business class cabin between Mumbai and Dubai: IndiGo, Air India, flydubai and Emirates. We searched a one-way business fare for one adult on all four, for the same 20 September 2026 departure.
| Airline | One-way fare | Seat type | Flight time |
|---|---|---|---|
| IndiGo Stretch | $629 | Recliner, 2-2 | 3h 00m |
| Air India | $714 | Varies by aircraft | 3h 30m |
| flydubai | $743 | Recliner or lie-flat | 3h 15m |
| Emirates | $986 | Lie-flat | 3h 00m |
Mumbai to Dubai is one of the busiest international air corridors in the world, with roughly a dozen nonstop departures a day. IndiGo flies it most often.
That density is exactly why the fares spread so wide: a budget airline’s business cabin, a legacy full-service carrier and a hybrid airline are all competing for the same three-hour flight.
Skip the nonstop, if you can spare the time
Every other India-to-Dubai city we have checked, the nonstop beats the connection on price. Mumbai breaks that pattern.
The saving comes from Gulf Air’s routing through Bahrain, not a premium on the nonstop fare itself. For a three-hour flight, most travellers will find $75 isn’t worth four extra hours and a change of aircraft.
It matters more as a market signal: on Mumbai to Dubai, connecting flights are genuinely competitive with nonstops, which isn’t true on every India-Dubai route.
When to fly for the cheapest business class
Round-trip business class on this route ranges from $323 to $612, depending on the month. We ran the same nonstop business search across eleven months, one round-trip departure per month, each a seven-night stay booked mid-month.
September 2026 is the cheapest month we found, at $323 round trip. December 2026 and March through May 2027 tie as the priciest, at $612, nearly double September’s floor.
Every one of these fares is IndiGo’s Stretch cabin, which holds the lowest price in every month we tested.
The pattern isn’t seasonal in any obvious way. It doesn’t climb steadily toward peak travel months, and it doesn’t dip for monsoon season.
IndiGo releases only a small allocation of Stretch seats at each price point, and which price is open on a given date depends more on individual flight loads than the calendar. Fares more than a year out were not yet available at the time of our search, so treat pricing beyond July 2027 as unconfirmed until closer to the date.
How to bring the price down
- Check IndiGo Stretch first. It has set the cheapest nonstop fare in every month we tested, by a wide margin over the next-cheapest option.
- Decide if you need the bed. On a three-hour daytime hop, a recliner is a reasonable trade for a lower fare. On a departure that lands you needing sleep, the extra cost of a lie-flat seat earns its keep.
- If flydubai is your pick for a flat bed, check the seat map before booking. Not every 737 MAX on this route carries the retrofitted lie-flat suite.
- Weigh the Bahrain connection. It is the single cheapest ticket on the route, if the extra four hours don’t bother you.
- Book mid-week departures where possible and compare a few dates around your travel window; IndiGo’s Stretch fares vary more by seat availability than by day of week alone.
- Set a price alert on Wego rather than checking manually, since premium cabin inventory on this route can shift day to day.
