Is Oman Air Operating Right Now?
Yes. Oman Air is running its GCC, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe routes, and its travel advice page carries no route suspensions.
Omani airspace is open and Muscat International is operating 24 hours a day. Some flights still route around closed airspace, which adds time rather than cancelling the service.
What Still Affects Your Oman Air Flight
- Kuwait, Terminal 4. Oman Air’s Kuwait flights operate from Terminal 4 at Kuwait International Airport, where no lounge access is available. The flights themselves are running.
- Kuwaiti overflights are closed until 2 October. The airport is open for arrivals and departures with prior approval, but traffic cannot cross the country, which lengthens some northern Gulf sectors.
- Iran, Iraq and Lebanon are avoided at all altitudes. This is the main reason a Muscat to Europe flight can run longer than the timetable you remember.
- Europe is thinner than it was. Oman Air’s nonstop European map is currently London Heathrow, Paris and Amsterdam. Check the specific city on Oman Air’s schedule before you assume a nonstop exists.
- Iran and Beirut. Neither Omani carrier serves either country. SalamAir lists both as suspended until further notice.
