Oman Air fares right now
Wego pulled cheapest return economy fares on Oman-Air-operated itineraries out of Muscat, for departures on 22 September 2026 returning 29 September 2026, sampled 11 August 2026, in US dollars. Every route below is nonstop in both directions.
Fares move by the day, so treat this as a snapshot rather than today’s price and check current fares for your own dates on Wego before booking.
One route is worth flagging. The search found no Oman-Air-operated itinerary between Muscat and Karachi, which matches the schedule filing above closing that route to bookings from 1 September 2026. Mumbai, Dubai, New Delhi, Bangkok and London all price on Wego alongside the other carriers flying them.
Fleet and aircraft
Oman Air is consolidating onto two Boeing families as part of its restructuring. CEO Con Korfiatis put the fleet at 33 aircraft in July 2026.
- 18 Boeing 737-8 MAX, the short-haul backbone. The most recent joined in February 2026.
- Nine Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners in service, with six more due in late 2028 and early 2029.
- Six legacy jets on the way out: 737-800s and 737-900ERs awaiting retirement, plus the older 787-8s still listed in the airline’s own fleet.
Korfiatis has described the end state as a full Boeing 787 and 737 MAX operator, so the two-family fleet is the destination rather than today’s position.
Hubs, network and route map
Oman Air operates a single hub at Muscat International Airport (MCT), reaching 49 destinations after the five routes launched in July 2026. The network covers the GCC, the Indian subcontinent, Southeast and Central Asia, East Africa and Europe.
That figure has a near-term expiry date. With Bangalore, Hyderabad and Karachi closing to bookings on 1 September 2026, the count drops to 46.
Point-to-point leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives traffic has become the focus. Korfiatis told Aviation Week in July 2026 that it grew from roughly 15% of total traffic to nearly 60% inside 18 months, an executive estimate rather than an audited figure.
Oman Air joined oneworld on 30 June 2025 as its fifteenth member, which layers alliance reach on top of its own network.
Baggage allowance and check-in
Checked baggage is set by the fare you buy rather than by the route you fly.
Economy allowances rise by 10kg on a specific list of routes, mainly the Indian subcontinent plus selected African and Middle Eastern destinations. Oman Air does not publish that list, so check the allowance shown against your own route while booking.
Cabin baggage is one 7kg piece in Economy and two in Business. No single checked bag may exceed 32kg on any fare, and Sindbad elites add 15kg at Gold and 10kg at Silver.
Loyalty programme
Oman Air’s frequent flyer programme is Sindbad. Accrual is spend-based, calculated on the base fare and carrier surcharges but excluding taxes.
- Blue: 4 miles per US dollar
- Silver: 5 miles per US dollar, 25% tier bonus, equivalent to oneworld Ruby
- Gold: 6 miles per US dollar, 50% tier bonus, equivalent to oneworld Sapphire
That oneworld reciprocity, covering lounge access and priority handling across member airlines, is the main reason the programme is more useful now than it was before mid-2025.

Is Oman Air operating normally right now?
Not entirely. On 1 August 2026 Oman Air reported delays and cancellations across parts of its network, blaming technical issues and temporary air route restrictions, and it has not since announced a return to normal. Check your flight status before travelling.
How many destinations does Oman Air fly to?
49 as of July 2026, after five launches in a single month. From 1 September 2026 that falls to 46, when bookings close on Muscat to Bangalore, Muscat to Hyderabad and Muscat to Karachi.
Is Oman Air part of an airline alliance?
Yes. Oman Air joined oneworld on 30 June 2025 as the alliance’s fifteenth member. Its Sindbad tiers map onto oneworld elite status, so members can earn and use benefits across member airlines as well as Oman Air.
What is Oman Air’s checked baggage allowance?
It depends on fare class. Economy runs from no free bag on Super Saver to 30kg on Flex, each rising by 10kg on selected routes, while Business runs from 40kg to 60kg. Cabin baggage is one 7kg piece in Economy and two in Business.
Is Oman Air financially stable?
It posted its first operating profit in 18 years in 2025, carrying 5.8 million passengers, up 7% year on year. In July 2026 CEO Con Korfiatis said the airline is still targeting full profitability in 2027 as its transformation programme runs on.
Is the Sindbad programme worth joining?
It earns on spend at 4 to 6 miles per US dollar depending on tier, with a 25% bonus at Silver and 50% at Gold. The stronger argument is the oneworld link: Sindbad Silver carries oneworld Ruby and Gold carries Sapphire, which is what makes the miles and the status useful beyond Oman Air itself.
