Oman visa for UAE residents news
The Sultanate of Oman has started allowing GCC residents of all commercial professions to enter the country, regardless of job categories. UAE residents may arrive in Oman from any country but will need to present a residence visa for UAE valid for at least 3 months.
Reports circulating on social media claiming that UAE residents can enter Oman visa-free have been turned down by the spokesperson of the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
Do UAE residents need an Oman visa?
The visa requirements for UAE residents depend on whether they are Emirati nationals. Nationals of the UAE may enter Oman visa-free at any border port, by road or by air, and can stay in the country for up to 14 days. Please note that They will, however, be required to show a confirmed hotel booking, health insurance, and a return ticket.
Foreign nationals, although residing in the UAE, will need to possess a pre-arranged visa before departing for Oman. They can apply for their Oman visa at the official portal and may also check their options here.
Oman visa on arrival for UAE residents
Oman discontinued issuing visas on arrival in 2019, irrespective of residency and citizenship. As a result, travellers who are not nationals of UAE or any GCC country will need to apply for an entry visa before flying to Oman.
Oman visa for UAE residents cost
UAE residents who are Emirati nationals do not require an Oman visa. They may visit Oman free of cost.
For other travellers, the price of a 30-day tourist visa is about AED 50 (OMR 5).
