The new Manila to Delhi and Mumbai flights on Philippine Airlines
Philippine Airlines starts flying nonstop from Manila to Delhi on 14 December 2026, and to Mumbai a day later. Seats are on sale, pending final approval from India. No other airline flies Manila to Mumbai without a change. To Delhi, Air India’s nonstop costs nearly double.
Both flights land around 3am. Book your hotel from the night you leave Manila, so the room is ready when you arrive.
Questions
When do Philippine Airlines’ Manila to Delhi and Mumbai flights start?
The airline has announced both routes for December 2026, subject to approval from the Indian government. Seats are already on sale on Wego, with the first Delhi departure on Monday 14 December and the first Mumbai departure on the Tuesday after.
What aircraft flies the new routes, and is there business class?
Both routes use the Airbus A321neo, a single-aisle jet with 168 seats. That is 12 lie-flat business class seats and 156 in economy.
Is the nonstop cheaper than flying with a connection?
Not always. On the week we sampled, Vietnam Airlines via Hanoi was PHP 2,281 cheaper to Delhi and PHP 5,265 cheaper to Mumbai. The catch is time: 18 to 19 hours out and about 25 hours back, against roughly seven hours each way on Philippine Airlines.
Do Filipinos need a visa for India?
Yes. Philippine passport holders need an Indian visa, and most tourists apply for the e-Visa online on the official Indian e-Visa portal before flying. Travelling the other way, Indian passport holders can visit the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days, with a return ticket and a hotel booking.
Why do the flights land in India in the middle of the night?
Both leave Manila at 22:40 and arrive around 3am local time, then the same aircraft turns round for a morning departure back to Manila. Plan on a hotel for the night you fly, or you will wait until the afternoon to check in.

How these figures were produced
- Fares are a Wego flight search from Manila, one adult, economy, sampled on 25 September 2026 in PHP. Delhi departs Monday 11 January 2027 and returns Tuesday 19 January; Mumbai departs Tuesday 12 January and returns Wednesday 20 January. The windows differ by a day because the two routes fly on different days of the week.
- January was sampled rather than December because it is the first full month of service and sits clear of the Christmas and New Year peak.
- The first departure dates were found by searching each operating day in early December and filtering to Philippine Airlines nonstops. Nothing was on sale before 14 December to Delhi or 15 December to Mumbai.
- The other airlines are the cheapest fare on the same dates with the whole trip on one carrier. Air India’s Delhi row is nonstop both ways; every other row connects each way. Durations shown are the outbound journey.
- Flight times match the airline’s announcement and the seats loaded for sale on Wego. Baggage allowances and refund terms are not taken from the fare feed, which has known gaps; check them on the airline’s own site before you book.
