Travelers from Pakistan planning a trip to Europe this summer can rejoice. As announced by the PIA CEO, Muhammad Amir Hayat, during a Facebook Live, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is anticipating their return to Europe after 4 years coming June with 2 flights a week to Paris from Pakistan, Wego reports. Moreover, flights to the UK have also been reported to resume starting 14 August 2024. 

As announced by Abdullah Hafeez, the spokesperson for PIA, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is expected to grant permission to the airline in phases throughout the ongoing month.

The CEO of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) recently revealed during a Facebook Live, “We hope we will commence our bi-weekly flights for Paris in the June or July timeframe. We are very hopeful about it.” He further stated, “All our pre-operation formalities are complete, we just await final clearance, and as soon as we get it, we will start.” indicating PIA’s hopeful return to European skies this summer.

Furthermore, in response to the situation, Hafeez mentioned that once approval is received from the Agency, PIA will prioritize the resumption of flight operations to Paris. “The direct flight to London is scheduled to commence on August 14,” he added. Additionally, he noted that in preparation for the resumption of flights, the airline is accelerating repairs on its 777 aircraft.

In 2020, Pakistan International Airlines had to halt its service to Europe after a ban was imposed due to a plane crash in May 2020 that resulted in multiple deaths and the grounding of 262 pilots.
