For the sixth year running, Qatar Airways has once again been recognized as the World’s Best Airline. The international air transport evaluation body, Skytrax, also revealed that Qatar Airways additionally won five other awards covering the period from September 2019 to July 2021, combining pre- and post-coronavirus results.

Commitment and continued innovation

The Qatari national flag carrier was rewarded for its flexibility and commitment to maintaining its flights over the course of the pandemic and bringing people home safely.

The commitment and continued innovation demonstrated by Qatar Airways throughout the pandemic had apparently resonated with international travellers worldwide earning the airline a majority of votes and crowning it the World’s Best Airline.

The focus on luxury and comfort

In addition to the Airline of the Year award, Qatar Airways was able to scoop five additional awards.

Travellers flying in business class will experience the pinnacle of luxury by way of the airline’s Al Mourjan luxury lounge in Doha as well as an unparalleled level of comfort and privacy offered by its patented Qsuite.

The level of comfort and luxury is further enhanced by generous storage spaces and delectable cuisine. All the elements ultimately come together and provide travellers with a new standard in comfortable flying.

Five additional awards

The comprehensive flying experience offered by Qatar Airways is duly recognized by the latest iteration of the 2021 Skytrax World Airline Awards.

Apart from being crowned the World’s Best Airline, Qatar Airways also managed to scoop five additional awards, namely the best Business Class Airline Lounge, Best Business Class Seat, Best Business Class, Best Airline in the Middle East, as well as the Best Business Class Onboard Catering.

It’s also worth noting that in August, the airline’s headquarters and hub, Hamad International Airport, was voted the World’s Best Airport.

Fly with peace of mind

The airline is a proud recipient of the 5-Star COVID-19 Safety Rating by Skytrax, the first airline in the world to have achieved this monumental feat. Qatar Airways has also achieved the Diamond Standard in the Airline Passenger Experience Association’s (APEX) Health Safety Powered by SimpliFlying audit.

Qatar Airways is also poised to incorporate yet another groundbreaking safety feature in the form of 100% Touch-Free ‘Zero-Touch’ In-flight Entertainment Technology across its A350 fleet. The Zero-Touch technology will enable A350 passengers to pair their personal electronic devices with their seat-back IFE screen by connecting to ‘Oryxcomms’ Wi-Fi and simply scanning a QR code displayed on the screen.

The feature would allow passengers to minimize surface contact while still availing them of some 4,000 entertainment offerings through the airline’s award-winning Oryx One in-flight entertainment system.
