Why are flights being disrupted right now?
Regional conflict has escalated again. Qatar said Iran targeted the country on 17 July 2026, while the United States has carried out further strikes against Iran.
EASA advises affected airlines not to use Qatar and other Gulf airspace until 29 July 2026. Attacks, airspace restrictions and rerouting can therefore cause delays or cancellations with little notice.
Is Qatar Airways flying right now?
Yes. Qatar Airways says it is serving more than 160 destinations under a schedule valid until 15 September 2026. Hamad International Airport is receiving passengers, but individual flights can still change or be cancelled.
The published network does not guarantee every route or departure. Check Manage Booking or the airline app, and travel to the airport only with a valid, confirmed ticket.

- Manage Booking: Open Manage Booking and enter your booking reference and last name.
- Qatar Airways app: Add your trip to receive booking updates and notifications.

Your options if your flight is cancelled
The ticket issue date is when Qatar Airways or the seller issued your ticket, not your flight date. A ticket issued by 15 May for July travel falls within the travel window below.

For a ticket bought directly from Qatar Airways, open the Qatar Airways refund page and select Request a refund. Enter your booking reference and surname, then review the unused ticket value and available payment or voucher option before submitting.
Qatar Airways says refunds usually take up to 28 working days, although timing can vary. Use Track a refund on the same page to follow the request.
If a travel agent or booking platform issued the ticket, ask that company for the refund. Qatar Airways directs agent-issued refund and voucher requests back to the seller.
Do not assume a no-show fee is waived. It depends on whether your journey was affected and the applicable ticket conditions.
Will travel insurance cover this?
Cover depends on your policy and when you bought it. War and military action are common exclusions, but some policies may cover certain delays or cancellations.
