Qatar Airways has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with Starlink, engineered by SpaceX, to revolutionize the in-flight experience for passengers, Wego reports. As the largest global airline and the first in the MENA region to partner with Starlink, Qatar Airways aims to elevate connectivity to new heights.

Starlink, renowned for its advanced constellation of satellites that deliver ultra-fast internet with minimal latency worldwide, will significantly enhance Qatar Airways’ in-flight services. Passengers will have access to a wide range of entertainment and information options akin to connecting to Wi-Fi at home.

The initial phase of this collaboration will see three Boeing 777-300s in Qatar Airways’ fleet equipped with Starlink’s ultra-high-speed, low-latency Wi-Fi by the last quarter of the year. This upgrade signifies the beginning of a comprehensive rollout strategy, with plans to extend this service across the entire modern fleet within the next two years.

With speeds of up to 500 megabits per second, passengers can stream their favorite movies, watch live sports, and engage in online gaming at 30,000 feet, mirroring the experience they enjoy at home. This initiative marks a significant step forward for Qatar Airways, placing passenger satisfaction and technological advancement at the forefront of its operations.
