Qatar Airways originally reinstated passenger flights to all three Iraqi cities on 10 May 2026. Its current published timetable, rather than that original resumption announcement, is the relevant evidence for September service.

Visa requirements depend on nationality and whether you enter Federal Iraq or the Kurdistan Region. For example, British citizens visiting Federal Iraq must obtain an e-visa in advance through the official Iraqi e-Visa portal.
Baghdad and Basra use Federal Iraq entry rules. The Kurdistan Region has a separate visa process, including visa on arrival for eligible travellers; a Kurdistan visa is valid only in that region.
